Album Review: Make Some Noise by MadFaq
Released in 2008 under DJ's United Red Records, Make Some Noise by MadFaq is a hard-hitting entry into the world of Italian electronic music. The album leans heavily into the hardstyle genre, delivering relentless energy and pounding beats that feel like they’re designed to shake both your speakers and your soul. It’s not perfect, but it’s got character—and honestly, sometimes that’s all you need.
The standout track for me has to be “Make Some Noise (Original Mix).” Right off the bat, it hits you with this raw intensity that feels unapologetically chaotic yet strangely addictive. The production—handled by Kostia Ivanzov and Vitali—is tight, layering aggressive synths over a driving kick drum pattern that refuses to let up. You can tell these guys weren’t messing around when they wrote this one. F. Franchi and V. Mascellino nailed the composition too, creating something that’s as much an anthem as it is a workout for your eardrums. If you’ve ever been to a festival where everyone just loses their minds during the drop, this is THAT kind of song.
Another track worth mentioning is “Make Some Noise (T.A.T. Remix).” This version flips the original on its head, adding layers of distortion and tweaking the melody just enough to make it feel fresh without losing the core vibe. What makes it stick out isn’t just how well-crafted it is—it’s also how it plays with tension. There are moments where everything drops out completely, leaving you hanging before slamming back in harder than before. It’s sneaky good, the type of remix that could easily steal the spotlight from the OG mix if given half a chance.
One thing I appreciate about this project is how focused it feels. With only four tracks, there’s no filler here—just pure, concentrated hardstyle goodness. Sure, some might argue that it’s a bit one-note, but honestly? That’s kinda the point. This isn’t an album trying to reinvent the wheel; it’s here to make noise, literally and figuratively.
Looking back at Make Some Noise, it’s wild to think this came out over a decade ago. In today’s hyper-polished EDM scene, albums like this remind us what made electronic music so exciting in the first place: raw energy, bold choices, and zero chill. And hey, maybe that’s why it still holds up. Or maybe I’m just a sucker for anything that makes my neighbors wonder if I’m secretly throwing raves in my living room. Either way, props to MadFaq for making... well, noise.
Fun fact: Apparently, the label behind this album folded shortly after releasing it. Makes you wonder how many other hidden gems got buried along the way. Guess we’ll never know—but at least we’ve got Make Some Noise.
