NoStigmas was founded in Chicago in 2007 as a movement to debunk the myths of mental illness and unify those living with it. The grassroots idea grew to include the NoStigmas Project, an event-based and virtual forum for sharing stories of hope and the Stigma Eraser campus outreach program. In 2011, NoStigmas formalized a partnership with Ottawa-based entrepreneur Ray Folkins, founder of NoStigmas.org. NoStigmas has since expanded services to offer the Mental Health First Aid training program in the US and is currently implementing Mental Fitness initiatives in conjunction with Running Room Canada's 120 locations.
