- About Me: Edmond “Nucky” Breaux Jr. was born April 28, 1981 in New Orleans, La. This New Orleans born rapper begin rapping in 1995 in a city in Texas called Fort Worth better known as Funkytown. It was then he clicked up with a group of classmates and formed a group called P.O.P. Playaz On Patrol. At this time he was attending Dunbar Middle School in Stop Six, TX. See, Nucky always knew he had a calling and at the age of 13 he began harnessing his talents into pages and pages of musical thoughts. But with little knowledge of how to get a deal he focused on getting better. After a while the group members went their separate ways and eventually Nucky was left with a lot of songs but no know-how on where to go next. So eventually the process became frustrating and slowly faded into a hobby for him. By this time Nucky became close friends with a well-known local producer named J-Bri and his eventual business partner Tonn Deep and he would begin taking his music to the next level no more accapella he was able to have beats to go with his lyrics.
But as time passed the distractions of the world became too much to focus on his dreams and because his family needed him more than the music did, it was put on the back burner again. “But once you rap fiend you always a rap fiend”. He always was a fan of music back when he got his first tape U.G.K. Banned mixtape and he knew that this kind of music allowed him to express himself like he never could before. So, he helped formed the group Dawg Life with friends Tonn Deep and Gent Eastwood another classmate in the name of his late close friend Eric Williams. They began recording at various studios and performing in clubs around the DFW area. It was then the three decided to start a label. Signing groups formed from relatives and other young talented artist from the neighborhood. But, due to their lack of knowledge of the business their endeavors didn’t pan out. “See this game is two pronged first you make sure your business is right and then you make a hot product” -Nucky Breaux. Nowadays Dawg Life is at again and Nucky Breaux is doing what he loves. Cause through it all its all about putting God first, stayin’ down, standin’ tall and stayin’ true to your craft, everything thing else is BUSINESS!
