Go Amcats Go by The Amcats: A Punk-Rock Riot That Kicks You in the Teeth (and You’ll Like It) Let’s cut to the chase—Go Amcats Go is not here to hold your hand or whisper sweet nothings. This 2007 punk-rock grenade from Australia explodes with raw energy, garage grit, and a rockabilly swagger that makes you wanna kick over a trash can just for fun. Released on Not On Label (because who needs “the man” anyway?), this album slaps you awake like cold coffee spilled on your jeans. First up, let’s talk about "Why Don’t You Talk Like I Walk?"—a track so punchy it feels like Shane Amcat himself clocked you right in the jaw. The guitars gnash at each other like alley cats fighting over scraps while the bassline growls beneath it all. It’s got attitude for days, and damn if those snarling vocals don’t stick in your head like gum under a desk. Every time I hear it, I’m reminded why punk isn’t dead—it’s alive and spitting in your face. Then there’s "Down Below," which hits harder than a hangover after New Year's Eve. This one’s darker, dirtier, and dripping with sleaze. The riffs are greasy enough to fry an egg on, and the lyrics crawl under your skin like a bad tattoo regret. If you’ve ever felt stuck in life, this song gets it. It’s less anthem, more battle cry—for anyone who’s ever clawed their way outta rock bottom. Emma McKenzie’s photography nails the vibe too—grungy, unpolished, and real as hell. And props to Matt Hills for co-producing/engineering this beast; he didn’t sand off the rough edges—he sharpened them into weapons. The whole thing screams DIY but never sounds lazy. These guys didn’t phone it in—they smashed the phone against the wall instead. So yeah, Go Amcats Go might not be perfect. But perfection is boring, right? What it lacks in polish, it makes up for in sheer guts and gasoline-soaked rage. At its core, this record reminds us why we love rock ‘n’ roll: it’s messy, loud, and doesn’t give a damn what you think. And honestly? After listening to this chaos bomb, I kinda want to start a band… or maybe just set something on fire. Who knew Australians could make music this combustible?

About The Amcats

Interesting fact about Album

Here’s something cool: The Amcats' album *Go Amcats Go* is a raw, high-energy mix of punk, rockabilly, and garage rock. Released in 2007 in Australia, it feels like a DIY labor of love. The band self-produced it under their own label, with Shane Amcat leading the charge. Fun fact—Matt Hills not only co-produced but also engineered the whole thing. Tracks like "Why Don't You Talk Like I Walk?" and "Bea Kaye" bring that gritty, rebellious vibe you’d expect from a garage rock gem. Emma McKenzie added her touch with the photography, giving it that authentic mid-2000s indie feel. It’s the kind of album that makes you want to crank up the volume and embrace its unpolished charm.

Very good tune but it sounds too much like the white stripes. Take the influence of them and create something original
