Album Review: Fuck House Lovers by Dustywork (2013) Alright, buckle up, because we’re diving into Fuck House Lovers, the 2013 techno banger from Italian producer Dustywork. Released on Diabolica Records, this album is a no-nonsense ride through tech house and techno vibes that’ll either make you wanna dance like nobody’s watching or question all your life choices. Spoiler alert: it’s probably both. The title track, Fuck House Lovers, kicks things off with a punch-you-in-the-face beat that’s equal parts hypnotic and relentless. It’s the kind of tune that grabs you by the shoulders, shakes you, and whispers, “Dance, human, dance!” There’s something about its driving bassline and glitchy flair that just sticks to your brain like gum under a club chair. But hey, in a good way—like, “I-can’t-stop-tapping-my-feet-even-while-cooking-pasta” good. Then there’s Fuck House Lovers (Taedium Rmx), which flips the original into a darker, moodier beast. If the first version is the party starter, this remix is the brooding loner lurking in the corner plotting world domination—or at least domination of the dance floor. The reverb-heavy drops? Chef’s kiss. You’ll feel like you’ve been transported to some underground rave in Milan where everyone’s wearing black and pretending they don’t care—but oh, they do. Let’s not forget Miss Under Stand and Life Is Feeling Slow. These tracks bring their own flavor to the table, but honestly, they play second fiddle to the juggernaut that is the Fuck House Lovers duo. That’s not a diss, though—it’s hard to compete when two tracks are basically flexing their sonic muscles right in your face. What makes this album memorable isn’t just the music; it’s the attitude. Dustywork doesn’t try too hard to be cool—he just IS. And maybe that’s why Italy continues to crush it in the electronic scene. This record feels like a middle finger to overproduced EDM while still being polished enough to slap in your headphones during a late-night drive. So yeah, Fuck House Lovers might not change your life, but it’ll definitely change your weekend playlist. Weirdly enough, listening to it made me wonder if Dustywork ever gets tired of people saying his name sounds like a cleaning product. Or maybe he leans into it. Either way, respect. Final verdict? A solid 8/10. Now go listen to it—but don’t blame me if you end up dancing in your kitchen at 3 AM.

About Dustywork

Everything starts during 1996 in London, his passion for music led him to study to become a sound engineer. In 2006 he moved to Barcelona, focusing specifically on the production and deep experimental techno. From this point on, following the Do It Yourself philosophy, he continued to produce a wide range of material from which many big personalities in the scene have been feeding. Demanded for collaborations on labels such as Intoxik, Nulabel, Pluseins, Kidnapping and names like Benno Blome, Pablo Akaros, Revolver System, sharing track with Sarah Goldfarb (Dumb Unit, Treibstoff), Touane (Persona rec.) and Mufo ( Kompakt ), has inevitably led him to gain recognition from the international press and catapulted him into a series of performances in clubs and events all over Europe with heavy weights like Gui Boratto, Oliver Huntemann, Robert Babicz, Oxia, Solomun, Max Cooper, Detroit Techno Militia among the others. He played and acted in Clubs like Macarena, Moog, Be Cool, Razzmataz, ( Barcelona ) Brancaleone ( Rome ), Europa ( Lisbon ), Raw-temple ( Berlin ), Elektroküche ( Cologne ), Slakthuset ( Stockholm ), Movie Music Club ( Pamplona ), Metropolis ( Cordoba ) that allowed to highlight his capabilities as producer and ability on stage. The live sessions display a wide variety of styles in techno. Heavy and humid atmospheres that permeate the dance floor, breaks and fat basses that investigate the deeper and more intellectual part of the genre. Thanks to his set he played in Festivals as Manrusionica ( Barcelona ) , Caudorella ( Barcelona ) , LPM ( Rome ), Konvent.0 ( Berga ). The DJ set cover a deep and more melodic range of Dark Techno for all the exigent dance floor. After nearly nine year of permanence in Barcelona, come back to Rome, his own town during spring of 2014 starting his own digital label Suck House Lovers, trying to explore the border line between techno and experimental dance music, giving him the chance to collaborate with many producers, receiving positive feedbacks from Chris Liebing, Joseph Capriati, Markantonio, Angel Molina, Pedro Pina and many others.
