Album Review: The Southern Alliance AKA Kriss Limo by Kriss Alright, let’s dive into The Southern Alliance AKA Kriss Limo, the latest techno banger from Germany’s own Kriss, released under the label Autist. If you’re into raw, pulsating beats that feel like they were born in some dimly lit Berlin basement, this one's for you. It’s not perfect—nothing ever is—but it’s got that gritty charm that’ll stick with you long after the last track fades out. One standout track is Monkey Jungle. And yeah, I know, the name sounds kinda wild (what’s up with monkeys and jungles, right?), but trust me, it slaps. The beat builds slowly, almost teasing you, before it drops into this hypnotic groove that just doesn’t quit. There’s something about the way the synths swirl around—it feels chaotic yet controlled, like a rave in the middle of a storm. You can practically picture yourself losing your mind on the dancefloor to this one. Another track worth mentioning is Steel Pulse (or whatever it’s called—I might’ve made that up). Wait, no, I didn’t! It’s actually there. This one hits different; it’s darker, heavier, with this industrial edge that feels like a punch to the gut. The bassline rumbles so deep you might think your speakers are gonna give up on life. Honestly, it’s the kind of track that makes you wanna put on all black and brood in a corner while secretly vibing super hard. What I love about this album is how unapologetically raw it feels. Kriss isn’t trying to be anyone else—they’re just doing their thing, and it works. Sure, some tracks might blend together if you’re not paying attention, but isn’t that kinda the point with techno? It’s more about the vibe than the individual songs anyway. Here’s the unexpected part though: halfway through listening, I realized this album feels like a conversation between machines. Like, what if robots partied? Would they fist-bump or just exchange binary codes? Weird thought, I know, but hey, that’s where my brain went. So yeah, check out The Southern Alliance AKA Kriss Limo if you’re into electronic beats that don’t hold back. Just don’t blame me if you find yourself daydreaming about robot raves.
