Holygram by La Boum Fatale: A Sonic Kaleidoscope That Sticks With You Let’s cut to the chase. Holygram, the 2016 album from German artist La Boum Fatale (aka Antonio De Spirt), is one of those records that sneaks up on you. At first, it feels like a scattered mixtape of genres—pop/rock meets electronic with dashes of dubstep, abstract IDM, and electro—but then something clicks. It’s messy in all the right ways, like flipping through old memories or walking into a dimly lit club where everyone's dancing but no one's talking. The production? Tight. Joel Krozer handled mastering, mixing, and stem mastering—and honestly, his fingerprints are all over this thing, giving it a polished-yet-raw vibe. But let’s talk about what really stands out: two tracks that I can’t shake off. First up, “No Tongue in Cheek.” This track hits hard—not because it screams for attention, but because it whispers so damn loudly. The beat builds slowly, almost hesitantly, like someone tiptoeing around their own feelings. Then bam! That bassline drops, and suddenly you’re not just listening anymore—you’re living inside the song. I remember driving late at night when this came on, windows down, wind rushing past my face. For a moment, everything felt clearer, like the world had paused just for me. Weird how music does that sometimes, huh? Then there’s “When We Fall/Razor Wires,” which is basically two songs stitched together like broken pieces of glass reflecting light in unpredictable ways. The transition between them isn’t smooth—it’s jarring, intentional, maybe even a little uncomfortable. And yet, it works. There’s this haunting quality to the vocals, as if they’re echoing from someplace far away, somewhere you’ll never quite reach. Listening to it feels like standing at the edge of an abyss, knowing you should step back but wanting to jump anyway. Yeah, heavy stuff. But isn’t that what great art’s supposed to do? Mess with your head a little? What strikes me most about Holygram is how unapologetically human it feels. Sure, it’s packed with synths and beats and layers upon layers of sound, but beneath all that techy wizardry, there’s heart. Real, messy, complicated emotion. Antonio De Spirt didn’t just make an album here; he bottled up fragments of himself and handed them over to us, trusting we’d find meaning in the chaos. So yeah, Holygram. It’s not perfect. Some parts drag, others feel too experimental for their own good. But isn’t life kinda like that too? Uneven, unpredictable, beautiful in its imperfections. If you’re looking for background noise, skip this one. But if you want something that digs deep and stays lodged in your brain long after the last note fades… well, you know what to do. P.S. Fun fact: Did you notice “Lover’s Dough” appears twice on the tracklist? Maybe it’s a typo, or maybe it’s intentional—a little wink from the artist reminding us nothing’s ever as straightforward as it seems. Either way, it made me smile.

Interesting fact about Album

Here’s a cool fact: The album *Holygram* by La Boum Fatale is like a one-person masterpiece. Antonio De Spirt not only wrote and produced the entire thing but also had Joel Krozer handle the mastering, mixing, and stem mastering. It’s wild how much creative control one person can have over such a diverse mix of sounds—dubstep, abstract, IDM, and electro all rolled into one. Plus, it came out on the German label Sinnbus in 2016, adding a bit of indie charm to its experimental vibe. Tracks like "Wittenberge" and "Lover's Dough" feel like little sonic worlds of their own.
