Album Review: "Anything" by Neizo (2012) Alright, let’s talk about Anything by Neizo. This electro house banger dropped back in 2012 under the GUDZA label, and honestly, it’s one of those albums that just sticks with you. It’s European through and through, and you can kinda tell from the vibe—super polished but still raw enough to make your feet move without overthinking it. The track that really slaps is, no surprises here, “Anything (Original Mix).” Man, this tune is like caffeine for your ears. The beat builds up slow at first, teasing you like, “Hey, you ready?” And then—boom—it drops, and suddenly you’re transported to some underground club in Berlin or something. The synths are sharp, almost like they’re slicing through the air, and the bassline? Oh man, it’s so thick you could practically spread it on toast. I remember hearing this track for the first time and thinking, “Damn, this is what electro house is supposed to feel like.” Another standout is “Neon Dreams” (or whatever it’s called—I’m going off memory here). It’s got this dreamy, almost floaty vibe to it, but don’t let that fool you. About two minutes in, it flips into this high-energy monster that makes you wanna jump around like a lunatic. What gets me is how Neizo balances these big, bold sounds with little details you only notice after a few listens. Like, there’s this tiny blip in the background that sounds like a robot hiccuping, and it’s just…chef’s kiss. Looking back, Anything feels like a snapshot of its time. Electro house was having its moment, and Neizo nailed it without trying too hard. But here’s the thing—I think this album holds up even today. Sure, it’s not gonna compete with all the new techy stuff out there, but it’s got heart. Like, you can tell someone actually felt this music when they made it, ya know? Random thought: if this album were a person, it’d probably be that friend who shows up late to the party but steals the show anyway. Neizo didn’t reinvent the wheel with Anything, but they sure as hell gave it a fresh coat of paint. Respect. Final verdict: If you’re into electro house or just need something to blast while you’re cleaning your room, give this one a spin. You won’t regret it. Unless you hate fun. Then maybe skip it.
