Album Review: Coloris by She – A Journey Through Sound and Space If you’re someone who digs the kind of music that feels like it’s been beamed straight from a neon-lit cyberpunk alleyway into your headphones, then Coloris by She is worth every second of your attention. Released in 2008 across Japan and Sweden (yeah, quite the combo), this album straddles genres with all the grace of an ambient techno ninja—blending house beats, chiptune bleeps, and techno grooves into something both nostalgic and futuristic. The mastermind behind this sonic trip? Lain Trzaska. They wrote it, composed it, mixed it, produced it—you name it, they did it. And honestly, it shows. The cohesion here isn’t just good; it’s borderline obsessive, like each track was crafted with tweezers and love. Plus, props to Shuji Nose for mastering because damn, these tracks punch through speakers like little robotic fists. Let’s zoom in on two standout tracks that’ll stick to your brain like gum on hot pavement: First up, “Autumn in Space.” It’s weirdly apt how the title perfectly describes what listening to this feels like—a crisp autumn breeze but make it intergalactic. The synths swirl around you like falling leaves caught in zero gravity, while the beat pulses steadily beneath, keeping things grounded. There’s something about the way those melodic loops spiral upward that makes me want to stare out a window and think deep thoughts—or maybe just pretend I’m floating past Saturn. Either way, it works. Then there’s “Touch and Go,” which flips the vibe entirely. This one kicks off with sharp, staccato notes that feel like glitchy Morse code before exploding into a full-on dancefloor anthem. It’s got this relentless energy that grabs hold of you and doesn’t let go until the last echo fades away. Every time I hear it, I imagine tiny pixelated astronauts breakdancing on the moon. Don’t ask why—it just fits. What strikes me most about Coloris is its ability to balance chaos and calm. Tracks like “Tokyo Nights” drip with neon vibes, while others, like “Monochrome,” strip everything back to raw emotion. About She

"she" is multi-instrumentalist and producer Lain Volta Trzaska. He was born 1983 in Krakow, Poland. Making music since his youth, starting in 1997, he started creating songs with FastTracker for games he had created. The 'she' music project was started in 2003 to Create stories through music for characters in the "shemusic universe". Most of his discography is self-released, aside from "Coloris" and "Orion"; which were released in Japan via in 2009.
