Feel Euphoria: A Selection From The Upcoming Album – Spock’s Beard’s Prog Rock Odyssey Alright, buckle up, because we’re diving into Feel Euphoria, the teaser EP from Spock’s Beard’s 2003 album. If you’re not familiar with these prog rock wizards, think of them as the mad scientists of music—mixing brainy riffs, emotional vocals, and enough twists to make M. Night Shyamalan jealous. Released under Inside Out Music in Germany (because why not?), this little gem gives us a taste of what was coming next. Spoiler alert: it’s good. Let’s talk tracks. First up is “The Bottom Line.” Oh man, where do I even start? This song feels like someone handed Alan Morse an electric guitar and said, “Go nuts.” And he does. The riffage here is sharp enough to cut glass but smooth enough to groove to. Nick D’Virgilio pulls double duty on drums AND lead vocals, proving he’s basically a musical Swiss Army knife. There’s something about how the track builds—it starts off subtle, almost shy, then explodes into this triumphant chorus that makes your chest swell. You don’t just hear it; you feel it. It’s one of those songs that sticks with you long after the headphones come off, kinda like gum on your shoe—but in a good way. Then there’s “Carry On,” which might as well be renamed “Carry Me Away Because This Is Beautiful.” Ryo Okumoto’s keyboards are front and center here, weaving through the mix like a caffeinated butterfly. Dave Meros lays down some basslines so solid they could hold up a skyscraper. But what really gets me is the storytelling vibe of the whole thing. It’s like they’re taking you on a journey without ever telling you where you’re going—and somehow, you trust them completely. By the time the final note rings out, you’re left wondering if you’ve been daydreaming for five minutes or floating in space for five years. Now, let’s give credit where it’s due. Thomas Ewerhard’s artwork? Stunning. Rich Mouser handling recording AND mixing? Dude deserves a medal—or at least a lifetime supply of coffee. Also, props to Alex Solca for snapping photos that probably made everyone look cooler than they actually are. Here’s the kicker: listening to Feel Euphoria feels like peeking behind a curtain before the big show. It’s not the full experience, but damn if it doesn’t leave you hungry for more. Like when you get a free sample at Costco and suddenly want to buy the entire pallet. So yeah, Spock’s Beard did their thing, and they did it well. This EP isn’t perfect—it’s too short, obviously—but it’s packed with enough brilliance to remind you why prog rock fans are such diehards. Honestly, I’d recommend giving it a spin even if you’re not usually into prog. Who knows? Maybe you’ll find yourself humming along to “The Bottom Line” while pretending to understand quantum physics. Final thought: If Spock himself were real and heard this album, he’d probably raise an eyebrow and say, “Fascinating.” Then secretly blast it on repeat in his quarters.

I would have thought I left a message apparently I did not..I have to set things right I've been listening to Spock's beard for quite some time it's been many years but this is my chance to set it right and let everybody know that I think of spock's beard is beyond an excellent band especially the years with Nick..
I am not saying however that I don't appreciate Neil Morris, because I do..
They're just simply wouldn't be a Spock's beard without Neil Morris starting that band checked out Neil Morris's new stuff as well y'all take care..

My favourite song by this incarnation of Spock's Beard. So heartfelt and refreshingly straightforward. Top notch from start to finish: vocally, musically, lyrically, arrangement and production, etc.!

The four albums with Nick singing lead vocals are my favourite albums by the band, some of my favourite music ever. It's a shame he left, the beard won't be the same without him.

So where's Part 6 of "A Guy Named Sid"???? Hasn't anyone else noticed that this song cuts off rather abruptly? There is another part to this, and I cannot find it anywhere!!!! Help!
