Album Review: Traumsender by Tenedle – A Synthwave Masterpiece You Didn’t Know You Needed Let’s cut to the chase—Tenedle’s Traumsender is one of those albums that sneaks up on you. Released in 2018 under the Netherlands-based label Sussurround, this record feels like a love letter to synthwave and synth-pop fans everywhere. And get this: Tenedle basically did everything on this album. Like, seriously, everything. From writing the lyrics to playing the synths, guitar, piano, and even handling the mastering and artwork, it’s clear this guy doesn’t mess around. Oh, and there are some sweet guest spots too, like Bert Lochs on trumpet and Fabio Torriti on viola, adding just enough texture to keep things interesting. The album has 13 tracks, but I wanna zoom in on two that really stuck with me: “Spring Will Never Come” and “Kanashibari.” “Spring Will Never Come” hits different. It’s got this melancholic vibe, like you’re staring out a rainy window while life feels kinda heavy. The synths are lush and dreamy, but there’s an ache in the vocals that pulls you in. You can almost feel the longing in every note. Honestly, it’s one of those songs where you’re like, “Wow, this is sad… but also kinda beautiful?” It’s hard not to replay it a few times just to soak it all in. Then there’s “Kanashibari,” which flips the mood completely. This track feels cinematic, like the soundtrack to a scene where the hero finally takes control of their destiny. The beat is driving, the synths pulse with energy, and the layers build up so perfectly that you can’t help but feel pumped. It’s the kind of song that makes you want to strut down the street like you own the place—even if you’re just heading to the grocery store. What’s wild about Traumsender is how cohesive it feels despite its range. Tracks like “No Ground” and “Last Woman On Earth” explore different shades of pop and electronic music, but they all share this thread of introspection and atmosphere. Listening to it feels like being inside Tenedle’s head for an hour—a little surreal, maybe a bit lonely, but ultimately rewarding. Oh, and here’s the kicker: Tenedle even painted the album cover himself. Like, who does that? This dude clearly doesn’t sleep—or if he does, he dreams in neon tones and synth chords. At the end of the day, Traumsender isn’t just an album; it’s an experience. It’s the kind of record that reminds you why music matters—it connects, it moves, it lingers. So if you’re into moody synthwave or just looking for something new to vibe to, give this one a shot. Just don’t blame me if you find yourself zoning out at work because you’re too busy dreaming of spring that never comes. Final thought? If Tenedle ever decides to retire from music, he could probably make it as a one-man band for a sci-fi movie soundtrack. Or a painter. Or a trumpet player. Dude’s got skills for days.

About Tenedle

Since the second half of the '80, with the band Laughing Silence, electronic-pop band of the italian new wave scene, active for a decade, Tenedle has retailed him self a space in the italian Indy music. Closing the experience with the band, after a few demos, concerts and prizes (www.myspace.com/laughingsilence) Tenedle begins a solo career with a series of collaborations and experimental projects included soundtracks for short movies, theater, dance productions, and art expositions. In 1995 he moved to Holland where he worked on his first "collection of songs" as a soloist with several local musicians and performs in small venues. The same period he devoted himself to painting. The return to Italy in 1997, completed the album Esperienze visionarie, followed by Fucsia 1999 and Smulltronstallet in 2000. Three albums of research, which are a veritable laboratory for further work published. The short but intense experience of O.l.g.a. organization, Association of Florentine composers active between 1999 eil 2001 Tenedle allows to achieve the Master of the album Fucsia and be part of two compilations (Lrdpppe 2000 - Scart tracks 2001). In 2002, he writes and produces Psicfreakblusbus a collection of songs set in a fictional circus in the clouds that inevitably triggers a series of fortunate events, mainly thanks to the programming of the national radio 1 RAI Demo Show www.demo.rai.it leading till the official debut record. The debut CD of Tenedle Psicfreakblusbus was published in June 2003 and well received by the first reviews. The second official studio project, Luminal published in 2005. returns to equip themselves with more electronic sounds, while remaining within the song writing, collect twelve tracks that play around the theme of madness. Even before its release some songs from the "concept" get awards nominations and presence at several Italian Prizes, all privileges and experiences that generate further attention to the work of Tenedle, accompanied by a large number of positive reviews and the attention of many regionals and national Radio (Rai Radio1, Rai International). Moreover, some Dutch media, thanks to a never stopped relationship between the artist and the north European country put in rotation the songs from the CD that is reviewed, still well in the pages of music Leeuwarder courant. The same newspaper will publish an extensive interview with Tenedle, also related to the time spent living in the Netherlands. Between the winter 2005 and 2009 Tenedle writes and performs music for 6 theater productions and 2 Children theater productions and Contribute with his works to a several successful shows in Florence, Rome, Amsterdam and Utrecht. During the winter 2006 and spring 2007 the third official album ALTER see the light. Released in October 2007 the Album gets more and more compliments and confirm the art of Tenedle. The more than 25 releases to date reviews speaks for themselves. In the meanwhile many more nominations, prizes and concert in Italy and The Netherlands, where Tenedle is living again since in 2008. The Italian composer, performer, songwriter, is actually working on the new album which will probably released before summer 2010. He recently presented a solo version of his performance "Egocentrifugo" in the historic Melkweg cafè, in Amsterdam and others small venues.

Interesting fact about Album

Did you know that the album *Traumsender* by Tenedle is basically a one-person masterpiece? Released in 2018 in the Netherlands, Tenedle handled almost everything—writing, producing, playing multiple instruments, even the artwork. The only outside help came from Bert Lochs on trumpet and Fabio Torriti on viola for a few tracks. It’s wild how one person can create such a rich blend of synthwave and synth-pop. Tracks like "No Ground" and "Last Woman On Earth" really showcase that mix of electronic vibes and emotional depth. Pretty impressive, right?
