Turbulence - Mis Leaders

Mis Leaders by Turbulence: A Raw Reggae Punch to the Gut Yo, let’s get straight into it. If you’re hunting for an album that slaps harder than a rude bouncer at a Kingston club, Mis Leaders by Turbulence might just be your jam. Released in 2006 under In The Streetz Records, this Jamaican fireball is pure, uncut reggae grit. No frills, no glossy production nonsense—just raw vibes and truth bombs. Now, I ain’t gonna sit here and pretend every track hits like a sledgehammer, but damn if “Mis-Leaders” doesn’t knock you sideways. That opening cut? It grabs you by the throat and shakes loose some uncomfortable truths about society and power players. Turbulence spits his verses with a mix of venom and soul, like he’s pissed off but still hopeful. The beat? Oh, it’s classic roots reggae—steady drums, basslines so deep they feel like aftershocks—but there’s something extra dirty about it. Like mud on your shoes after a rainstorm. You can’t shake it off, nor do you wanna. Then there’s “Version Street Swing Riddim.” Man, this one sticks in my head like gum on hot pavement. The riddim itself feels hypnotic, looping around until you're nodding along whether you like it or not. What makes it unforgettable though is how Turbulence rides it like a man possessed. He doesn’t just sing over the track—he owns it. His voice cracks and bends in all the right places, giving off that "I’ve seen too much" vibe. It’s haunting as hell, yet weirdly uplifting. Like hearing gospel from someone who's been through the trenches. This ain’t no polished pop-reggae mess trying to cross over to mainstream charts. Nope. This is street-level storytelling for people who know what struggle sounds like. And honestly? That’s why it works. Turbulence doesn’t care if you think he’s smooth or trendy—he’s here to deliver messages sharp enough to cut glass. Here’s the kicker though: listening to Mis Leaders, I couldn’t help thinking how rare albums like this are nowadays. Back then, artists weren’t afraid to call out corruption and hypocrisy without sugarcoating it. These days? Good luck finding music brave enough to slap you awake instead of lulling you asleep. Makes me wonder—are we better off now with our shiny playlists and algorithm-curated crap? Or did we lose something real when guys like Turbulence stopped getting airtime? Either way, Mis Leaders deserves its spot in any true reggae fan’s collection. Just don’t expect it to hold your hand. It’ll punch you in the gut first—and trust me, you’ll thank it later.
