Album Review: Music Music Music (1969) If you’re looking for an album that feels like a warm hug from the past, Music Music Music by Various is your ticket. Released in 1969, this compilation is a wild ride through genres and styles—Pop/Rock, Folk, Jazz, Easy Listening, Country… heck, even Dixieland makes an appearance. It’s like someone took all the best songs from the UK, Germany, and the US, threw them into a blender, and hit “puree.” And honestly? It works. Let me tell ya, this thing has a lot of tracks—like, A LOT. But two stood out to me, probably because they hit me right in the feels. First up, there’s "Theme From A Summer Place." Oh man, this tune feels like lying on a beach at sunset, sipping something cold while life slows down just enough to let you catch your breath. The melody is so smooth it practically floats. You can almost picture those old-school couples dancing slow under string lights. It’s not flashy or loud; it doesn’t need to be. It’s one of those songs that reminds you how beautiful simplicity can be. Then there’s "Unchained Melody." I mean, come on—this song is iconic. Every note drips with emotion, like it’s pouring straight outta someone’s soul. Whether it’s the longing in the vocals or the way the music swells, it grabs hold of you and doesn’t let go. This version might not have the fame of some others, but it holds its own. There’s something raw about it—it feels personal, like whoever sang it really lived every word.
