- About Me: I’m Alexandra, a 28 year old New Zealander living in London. I’m one of those people with a fascination for food and wine who decides to write about it. Writing about it is a way for me to gather my ideas, learn more and then share those ideas with other likeminded people. I love reading other peoples blogs too.
I appreciate beautiful food styling and photography, restaurant reviews, recipes, wine tasting notes, vintage reviews and new trends but I also feel deeply about where our food comes from, how is processed and distributed and the rapidly changing political, economic and scientific food scene.
I think it is fair to say that my interest in food developed before I had Instagram. It started at school which led me to study food science and marketing at university. I have since worked on developing new sustainable seafood products in Australia through to exporting premium New Zealand wines from Hawkes Bay, to now, where I currently I spend my days spreading the word about beautiful wines from family vineyards big and small to the sommeliers, wine buyers and consumers of London and the UK. I’m half way through completing my WSET Diploma (professional study of wine business), which is helping me to understand more about wine. I am lucky because I love my job, every day I spend with likeminded, passionate people. Working with wine is a blessing. Wine crosses so many interests, it is never uninteresting.
