  • About Me: Nicky Reynolds began her career in the tourism industry working for the National Park Service as an Interpretive Park Ranger for the Civil War battlefield, Point Park, located on historic Lookout Mountain. During her tenure there, she led guided tours of the historic battle sites and explained how the Campaign for Chattanooga impacted the overall War Between the States. She also took on the public relations needs for the park while she was there, writing press releases and creating special event flyers. In addition, she was in charge of organizing and scripting the annual Cravens House Christmas program. From there, Reynolds went on to work for the Chattanooga Area Convention & Visitors Bureau as their Communications Coordinator. Within a year, she was promoted to Marketing Manager, overseeing all public relations and marketing aspects under the direction of the Vice President of Marketing. Her next career move found her roaming the 34 eastern Tennessee counties as the East Tennessee Marketing & Public Relations Manager for the Tennessee Department of Tourist Development. Her main responsibility was to help smaller communities learn how to market their tourism assets, teach them self-promotion and public relations strategies, and to help spread the word to the media about what each of these wonderful, small communities had to offer to visitors. Finally, Reynolds ended up as Director of Communications for the Oak Ridge Convention & Visitors Bureau, where she is currently using her media and tourism contacts to spread the word about the history and heritage of the Secret City. She also sits on the boards of the Public Relations Society of America’s Volunteer Chapter, Altrusa International of Oak Ridge, the Oak Ridge Heritage & Preservation Association, and the Southeast Tourism Society Board of Trustees. She is also an Oak Ridge Chamber of Commerce Connector and a Loaned Executive for the United Way of Anderson County. In addition, Reynolds is a 2007 graduate of Leadership Oak Ridge, the Southeast Tourism Society’s three-year Marketing College, and the Tennessee Tourism Roundtable’s Certified Tennessee Tourism Professional program. Reynolds is currently President of Altrusa International of Oak Ridge Foundation and a member of East Tennessee Regional Leadership.
