Album Review: Got To Keep On (Riton Extended Mix) by The Chemical Brothers The Chemical Brothers are no strangers to pushing boundaries in electronic music, and their 2019 release Got To Keep On (Riton Extended Mix) is a testament to that. Released under Virgin EMI Records with a remix credit to Riton, this project dives deep into the house genre while keeping the duo’s signature edge intact. It’s not just another dancefloor filler—it’s got teeth. Let’s talk about the titular track, Got To Keep On (Riton Extended Mix). Clocking in at over seven minutes, it feels like an odyssey rather than just a song. The beat builds slowly but deliberately, layering synths and percussion until you’re fully submerged. What sticks out? The groove—oh man, the groove. It’s hypnotic without being overwhelming, perfect for losing yourself on a dimly lit dancefloor or even during a late-night drive. There’s something raw yet refined about how Riton reworks the original; he doesn’t just extend it—he transforms it. You can feel the UK roots pulsing through every kick drum and hi-hat. Another standout moment comes from the way vocals are chopped up and looped throughout the mix. They’re not intrusive—they float around like whispers you can’t quite catch, adding texture without overshadowing the instrumental backbone. It’s subtle moves like these that make the track memorable long after the last note fades. While there’s only one main track here, its energy carries enough weight to fill an entire playlist. That said, if you’re expecting variety across multiple tracks, this might not scratch that itch. But honestly, who needs more when what’s offered hits so hard? Reflecting on this release, I’m reminded of how sometimes less really is more. In an era where albums often drown listeners in endless tracks, The Chemical Brothers and Riton prove that one killer tune can leave a lasting impression. And hey, maybe that’s all we need—a single spark to light up the night. Unexpected thought: If this track were a person, it’d probably wear neon sneakers and have a secret love for vintage vinyl stores.

Tom & Ed met in history class at Manchester University in 1989. They started off as DJs known as "The 237 Turbo Nutters" (named after the number of their house on Dickenson Road in Manchester and a reference to their Blackburn raving days). They then opted for "The Dust Brothers" which they nicked from the L.A. producers of "Pauls Boutique" (as they thought they would never be famous). In 1995 they changed their name to "The Chemical Brothers" after the real Dust Brothers threatened to sue.
