Album Review: Cindy Gomez – Again & Again Cindy Gomez’s Again & Again might just be the most danceable thing to come out of Sweden since ABBA decided it was time to stop wearing shiny outfits. Released in 2010 under Universal Music AB, this album is a bouncy blend of electronic beats, pop sensibilities, and enough remixes to make your playlist feel like a never-ending party. Genres? Electronic and Pop. Styles? Dance-pop and House. Basically, if you’ve got feet, this album will make them move—whether you want them to or not. The star of the show here is obviously the titular track “Again & Again,” which comes in more versions than I have excuses for eating an entire bag of chips in one sitting. There’s the Bimbo Jones Radio Edit, the Spanish Version, the French Version—you name it, they’ve got it. It’s like Cindy said, “Why pick one vibe when we can have eight?” And honestly, she’s not wrong. Let me zoom in on two tracks that stuck with me. First up, the Bimbo Jones Radio Edit. This version is pure ear candy—it’s polished but not so much that it loses its soul. The beat hits just right, like that first sip of coffee when you’re still half-asleep. You know what I mean? It’s punchy, upbeat, and kinda makes you wanna grab someone by the hand and twirl them around the room—even if that someone is just your cat. (Don’t judge; mine loves it.) Then there’s the Glam As You Club Mix, which leans harder into the house vibe. If the Radio Edit is your friendly neighborhood DJ spinning tunes at a rooftop party, this one’s the mysterious stranger in the corner who knows all the best underground spots. It’s darker, groovier, and has this synth line that sneaks up on you like, “Oh hey, remember me? I’m still here, making you look cool on the dance floor.” Honestly, it’s impossible not to bob your head to this one. Even my plants seem perkier when it’s playing. What’s wild about Again & Again is how unapologetically extra it feels. With eight versions of essentially the same song, you’d think it would get old fast—but somehow, it doesn’t. Each remix brings something new to the table, like Cindy’s whispering secrets to different parts of the world. Oh, and shoutout to the multilingual vibes with the Spanish and French versions. Nothing screams “global domination” quite like singing “again and again” in multiple languages while sweating through your shirt at 2 AM. Reflecting on this album, it strikes me as both delightfully chaotic and oddly comforting. Like, sure, it’s basically one song over and over, but isn’t life just a series of loops too? Wake up, work, eat, sleep, repeat. Maybe that’s why Again & Again resonates—it mirrors our own little cycles, except with way better basslines and fewer existential crises. Final thought: If aliens ever land and ask us to explain human music, I’m handing them this album. Either they’ll love it, or they’ll leave Earth immediately because we’re clearly obsessed with repeating ourselves. Either way, win-win.
