Dogliveroil UGAS - Split Kassete 2

Split Kassete 2: A Sonic Chaos That Sticks With You Let’s get one thing straight—this ain’t your grandma's electronic music. Split Kassete 2 by Dogliveroil UGAS is like stumbling into a dark, glitchy basement where someone’s been cooking up sounds that feel both alien and oddly familiar. Released in 1996 under Japan’s Kinky Musik Institute (yes, that’s a real label), this album dives deep into experimental noise, industrial grit, and abstract vibes. It’s messy, raw, and unapologetically weird—but damn, does it leave an impression. First off, let’s talk about the players here: Delay Monster, LOop Devil, and Mix Saturn are credited for tracks B1 to B6. These guys aren’t just making beats—they’re conjuring audio nightmares and dreams at the same time. The tracklist reads like some cryptic diary entry, with titles like “Part 1: Your Austrian Mother Is Secretly French” and “Part 2: Laugh Your Auntie Away.” Honestly, you kinda have to be in the right headspace for this stuff, but once you’re there, it grabs hold of you. Take “Your Austrian Mother Is Secretly French,” for example. This track hit me like a punchline I didn’t see coming. At first, it feels like a jumble of distorted loops and metallic clangs, but then something shifts—you start hearing these tiny melodic fragments sneaking through the chaos. It’s like eavesdropping on two machines arguing while secretly falling in love. Weird? Absolutely. But also strangely beautiful. I couldn’t tell you what the title means, but maybe that’s the point—it’s not supposed to make sense; it’s supposed to make you feel. And trust me, it does. Then there’s “Laugh Your Auntie Away,” which might sound goofy on paper but hits hard when you listen closely. Imagine a carnival stuck in limbo, all warped laughter and broken melodies. There’s this moment around the halfway mark where everything drops out except for this eerie, high-pitched tone that just lingers. Like...what even is that? It’s haunting as hell, but you can’t stop listening because it’s so hypnotic. Tracks like this remind you how powerful dissonance can be—it’s uncomfortable, sure, but isn’t life sometimes? The whole vibe of Split Kassete 2 feels like peeking behind the curtain of someone else’s fever dream. Sure, it’s chaotic and noisy, but it’s also layered with little details that keep pulling you back in. Maybe it’s the way Delay Monster screws with time signatures or how LOop Devil makes loops sound more alive than they should. Whatever it is, it works. Here’s the kicker though—listening to this album made me think about how music doesn’t always need to fit neatly into boxes. Sometimes it’s better when it spills over the edges, leaving stains you can’t wipe off. In a world obsessed with polish and perfection, Split Kassete 2 reminds us that imperfection has its own kind of magic. Oh, and fun fact? If aliens ever invade Earth, I’m pretty sure they’d play this album to freak us out before landing. Just saying.

About Dogliveroil UGAS

Noise collective from Stoke-On-Trent active throughout the late 90s. The lineup constantly changed but it was usually based around a nucleus of Phil Todd (2), Matthew Tunnicliffe (Tunny), Marky Loo Loo and Neil Davies, with Joincey, Andy Jarvis and Dan Bird joining in occasionally. As they were a band from Stoke-On-Trent, live shows were not often, and were always a cross between a gig and strange performance art, with group members dressing up. At one memorable gig in Nottingham Joincey inpersonated Jimmy Saville for the entire set. After a ten year hiatus, the group started performing again in 2012.n

Interesting fact about Album

Here’s something cool: The album *Split Kassete 2* by Dogliveroil UGAS is a wild mix of experimental noise and industrial vibes. Released in Japan back in 1996, it’s got this raw, chaotic energy that feels like organized chaos. What’s wild is how three performers—Delay Monster, LOop Devil, and Mix Saturn—teamed up to create all the tracks on Side B. Oh, and check out the track names, like “Part 1: Your Austrian Mother Is Secretly French” and “Part2 : Laugh Your Auntie Away.” Abstract, funny, and totally unpredictable!
