Review by Ben Jamir

Alright, buckle up. This ain’t your grandma’s Disney soundtrack—this is Mickey Mouse March Eurobeat Version, and it slaps harder than you’d think for something with Mickey’s name on it. Released in 2000 in Japan by Walt Disney Records and Avex Trax, this album is straight fire if you’re into Eurobeat or just wanna hear Mickey get the electronic remix treatment he didn’t know he needed. First off, let’s talk about the star of the show: “Mickey Mouse March (Eurobeat Version) ~Young Kids Extended Mix.” Holy crap, this track is wild. It takes that wholesome, bouncy original tune and cranks it up to eleven with pounding beats, synths sharper than a knife fight, and energy levels that could power Tokyo at night. You can practically feel the neon lights flashing while listening to it. What makes it stick? The way it loops back around every time you think it’s done—it’s like Dave Rodgers knew exactly how to mess with your brain. It’s catchy as hell but also kinda chaotic, which honestly fits Mickey’s vibe better than people give him credit for. Then there’s “Mickey Mouse March (Instrumental)”, which strips all the vocals away and lets the music do its thing. No distractions, no gimmicks—just pure Eurobeat bliss. This one hits different because it shows how strong the production really is. Without Jammie Dodd’s lyrics screaming over everything, you notice the layers: the basslines hitting hard, those sharp hi-hats cutting through, and melodies looping so smoothly they’ll have you zoning out. If you’ve ever wanted to imagine Mickey cruising down Rainbow Road in Mario Kart, this is the soundtrack right here. Now, sure, some tracks are basically repeats with slight tweaks—but hey, when the formula works, why fix it? Plus, props to Dave Rodgers for keeping things fresh enough without losing the essence of what makes Eurobeat addictive. And yeah, maybe having seven versions of the same song feels excessive, but isn’t that kind of the point? They went all-in on this thing, unapologetically shoving Mickey into club territory where he probably shouldn’t belong—but somehow does. Here’s the kicker though: listening to this album feels like finding an old VHS tape labeled “TOP SECRET” in your attic. It’s bizarre, kinda funny, and oddly captivating all at once. Who would’ve thought Mickey Mouse could go full throttle on the dance floor? Honestly, I’m still trying to figure out whether this was made as a joke or a masterpiece. Either way, it rules. Final thought: If Mickey ever decides to drop a sequel called Donald Duck Shuffle Drum’n’Bass Remix, sign me up immediately. Until then, crank this sucker loud and watch your neighbors question their life choices.
