Released back in 2010 under their own label, Funcken Industry, this little nugget of dubstep and illbient goodness hails straight outta the Netherlands. It’s one of those albums that sneaks up on you—quiet at first, but then it digs its claws in deep. Roel Funcken remastered this thing, which tells you something about how much care went into it. You can hear it too; everything feels crisp without losing that raw edge. funcken has nothing to do with stupid dub fashion and dont get me wrong I like and listen some dub step...but funcken is where basic channel electronic meets IDM and dub hip hop sounds
