The Duel by Giorgio Moroder: A Synth-Pop Punch to the Face Alright, let’s get one thing straight—Giorgio Moroder doesn’t mess around. The Duel, his 1984 synth-pop beast, slaps harder than most albums from that era. Released across the UK, France, and Europe under Virgin Records, this sucker is pure electronic grit wrapped in shiny chrome. And guess what? Moroder didn’t just produce it; he wrote every damn note. No handouts here. It’s all him, baby. Now, I’ll keep this short because life’s too short for fluff. Two tracks stand out like neon lights in a blackout: “The Duel” and “Madeline’s Theme.” “The Duel” kicks things off with an aggressive punch of synths so sharp they could cut glass. This isn’t your typical soft-focus ‘80s vibe—it’s raw, edgy, and relentless. You can almost picture Moroder hunched over his gear, tweaking knobs like a mad scientist trying to bring robots to life. The beat drills into your skull but not in a bad way. Nah, it’s more like it’s daring you to ignore it. Spoiler alert: You won’t. Then there’s “Madeline’s Theme,” which flips the script entirely. Founder of label and , in the 70s invented the Munich Sound (often confused with Italo-Disco which will arrive later) and created the first icons with and . Today, he is back to DJing for passion. Hahaha... finally I found the original The Duel back in 80s that I did have this CD before but disappeared ( must be stolen by my younger brother) and roaming a lot of copy-patch type. THIS IS MY VERSION OF THE DUEL. I will bring this song into my YT and cherish it forever with my ears.... Hahaha........................STF.............................
