This album came out in 2017 and is one hell of a black metal ride. It’s got that raw, unpolished vibe you’d expect from the genre but with some serious depth to it. Released under labels like Profaner Records and Morbid Skull Records (cool names, right?), this Panamanian-Japanese collaboration feels like an unholy summoning straight out of the abyss. First off, can we just appreciate how wild these track titles are? They’re practically mini-stories on their own. But I’m gonna zoom in on two tracks that really stuck with me because they hit hard—and not just sonically. --- Track 1: "Down Our Boots Rest The Stench And The Putrid Blood Of Yvhv" Okay, yeah, the title’s a mouthful, but damn if this song doesn’t grab you by the throat. The drumming deserves a shoutout too; it’s fast, precise, and gives the whole thing this driving force. By the time it ends, you’re left wondering what just happened—but in the best way possible. --- So yeah, Against All Adversity isn’t your typical black metal album. Sure, it checks all the boxes—raw production, shrieked vocals, blast beats galore—but there’s also this weird charm to it. Maybe it’s the international flair (Panama AND Japan? Wild combo!) or maybe it’s the sheer audacity of naming songs things like “Spreading The Vomit Of Misery And Scorn.” Either way, it works. Here’s the thing though—listening to this album feels like stepping into another dimension. One where everything is darker, heavier, and slightly off-kilter. And honestly? That’s exactly what black metal should do. Final thought: If Satan had a Spotify playlist, this would definitely be on it. But hey, maybe he’d skip the intro track.
