Album Review: Your Love by Luv' – A Trip-Hop Treat from India Alright, let’s dive into Your Love, the 2014 gem from Luv', an electronic-pop duo hailing straight outta India. Released under Fishnet Music, this album is a quirky blend of vocal-heavy vibes and trip-hop grooves that’ll have you hitting replay faster than you can say “butter chicken.” First up, we’ve got the titular track, Your Love. It’s smooth, sultry, and kinda sneaky—like that one friend who always convinces you to stay out way past your bedtime. The vocals are lush and dreamy, floating over beats that feel like they were crafted in some smoky underground club in Mumbai. You know those songs that just wrap themselves around your brain? Yeah, this is one of them. By the third listen, I was humming it while brushing my teeth. Not even kidding. Then there’s Your Love (Trap Mix)—because why stop at one version when you can crank things up a notch? This remix slaps harder than your auntie’s samosa recipe. The trap drums give it an edgy kick, turning what was already catchy into something borderline addictive. If the original track feels like sipping chai on a rainy day, the trap mix is more like chugging an espresso shot before running for a train. Chaotic but thrilling. What makes these tracks stick? Honestly, it’s how effortlessly they bounce between moods. One moment you’re vibing all chill-like, and the next, BAM—you’re ready to conquer the world (or at least dance awkwardly in your room). Plus, the production quality punches way above its weight for something coming out of 2014 India. Kudos to Fishnet Music for letting Luv’ shine. So yeah, Your Love isn’t perfect—it’s not trying to be. But it’s fun, fresh, and unapologetically itself. And honestly, isn’t that what good music should do? Make you forget about perfection and just… feel? Final thought: Listening to this album feels like finding rupees in the pocket of an old jacket. Unexpected, kinda nostalgic, and oddly satisfying. Now go stream it—you won’t regret it. Unless you hate joy. In which case, maybe don’t.

Luv' was a Dutch girl group that scored a string of hit records in Continental Europe (Benelux, Germany, Switzerland, Austria, Yugoslavia, France, Denmark) as well as South Africa, Zimbabwe, Australia, New Zealand, Canada and Mexico in the late 1970s and early 1980s. The original members were Patty Brard, José Hoebee and Marga Scheide. In 1976, record producers, Hans van Hemert and Piet Souer (assisted by manager Han Meijer), twenty years before the Spice Girls phenomenon, decided to form a girl group, inspired by the German disco trio Silver Convention. In 1979, Luv' were "Holland's best export act" and thus received the "Conamus Export Prize". Luv' sold more than seven million records worldwide (singles and albums). Among their greatest hits were: U.O.Me (1978), You're the Greatest Lover (1978), Trojan Horse (1978), Casanova (1979) and Ooh, Yes I Do (1979). In 1980, Patty Brard was replaced by Ria Thielsch. In early March 1981, Luv' disbanded for the first time. The female pop trio went through line-up changes and the original singers reunited several times. In March 2016, Marga Scheide, José Hoebee and Ria Thielsch decided to relaunch Luv'. In July 2017, the ladies celebrated their 40th anniversary. On January 4th, 2019, the group announced another line-up change in Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf: media personality Chimène van Oosterhout replaced Ria Thielsch. The Luv' singers toured the nostalgia circuit through the Netherlands and Flanders (Belgium). The renewed trio released a Latin pop-reggaeton single entitled With Him Tonight in July 2019, twenty-five years after their last album All You Need Is Luv'. On February 7th, 2020, the group's management informed that Luv' stopped all their activities due to José Hoebee's ill health.
