Unending Love by Poon Sow Keng: A Timeless Pop Gem from 1969 Let me tell you about Unending Love, an album that feels like flipping through an old photo album your grandma keeps tucked away. Released in 1969, this pop masterpiece from Singapore, Malaysia, and Hong Kong is one of those hidden treasures you stumble upon and can’t stop talking about. Backed by Angel Records, Poon Sow Keng delivers a heartfelt collection of tracks that tug at your heartstrings without even trying too hard. Now, I gotta say, two songs really stuck with me—I Don’t Trust You and Sweet Memories. “I Don’t Trust You” hits different, man. It’s got this raw honesty to it, like when someone spills their guts after holding it all in for way too long. The melody’s simple but catchy as hell, and her voice just cracks open emotions you didn’t know were hiding inside you. Like, damn, how does she make distrust sound so… relatable? Then there’s Sweet Memories. Oh wow, this one takes you back to places you’ve never even been before. There’s something magical about how the tune sways along, almost like it’s dancing solo under soft moonlight. Every note feels nostalgic, even if you weren’t alive in ’69. Honestly, listening to this track made me think about random moments—like running through rain-soaked streets or staring out train windows—and suddenly they felt cinematic. The rest of the album flows smoothly, with gems like Mid-Night and My Lonely Moments adding layers of bittersweet vibes. But what stands out most is how real everything feels. No fancy production tricks here; just pure emotion laid bare over gentle melodies. You know, reviewing albums like this makes me wonder why we don’t hear more stuff like this today. Maybe because life moves too fast now, and no one has time to sit still and let music soak into their soul anymore. Or maybe because artists back then weren’t afraid to wear their hearts on their sleeves. Whatever the reason, Unending Love reminds us that good music doesn’t need to scream for attention—it whispers its way into your heart instead. Oh, and fun fact? Listening to this album somehow convinced my cat to nap next to me. Not sure if that means anything, but hey, art connects us all—even felines.
