Rifle Diet - No Solace

No Solace by Rifle Diet: A Crust Punk Sledgehammer to the Skull Alright, let’s get this straight—No Solace isn’t for the faint-hearted. This 2015 crust rock beast from Rifle Diet doesn’t mess around. It’s raw, pissed-off, and unapologetically in your face. If you’re looking for polished production or some soft acoustic interlude, turn back now. This is pure aggression bottled up and thrown at your skull like a molotov cocktail. First off, props to Profane Existence and Blood Of The Young Records for putting this out. They didn’t try to water it down one bit. And credit where it’s due—Adam Tucker handled recording, mixing, AND mastering. Dude deserves a medal because this album sounds like controlled chaos without losing its edge. You can hear every gritty bassline from Beard, every thunderous drum hit by John, AJ’s gnarly guitar riffs shredding through the mix, and Will’s vocals? Damn near unhinged. Now, onto the tracks that’ll stick with you long after the needle lifts off the record. Let’s talk about “Hung Between.” Holy hell, this track hits HARD. From the opening riff, it feels like someone sucker-punched you in the gut—and then kept punching. Will’s snarling delivery matches perfectly with the chaotic instrumentation. The lyrics spit venom about being caught in life’s shitty crossfire, and yeah, we’ve all been there. That chorus? It’s simple but brutal as fuck, drilling into your brain until you can’t stop humming it (or screaming it). Then there’s “Evil Men’s Deeds,” which might be my personal favorite. This song is a relentless assault on hypocrisy and corruption, delivered with enough bile to make your ears bleed. AJ’s guitar work here is filthy perfection—those riffs are sharp enough to cut glass. Paired with John’s machine-gun drumming, it’s impossible not to bang your head so hard you risk whiplash. By the time the final note rings out, you’re left breathless, kinda like getting punched repeatedly but weirdly loving it. The rest of the album keeps the intensity cranked to eleven. Tracks like “Battles Not Chosen” and “Chain Of Command” rip through themes of struggle and authority with zero chill. Even shorter cuts like “Just A Phase” pack a punch, proving Rifle Diet knows how to maximize impact in under two minutes. No filler here—just ten tracks of sonic warfare. Here’s the thing though—listening to No Solace isn’t fun in the traditional sense. It’s more like therapy for when you’re pissed at the world and need something equally angry to scream along to. There’s no solace in these songs (pun intended), just catharsis wrapped in distortion and feedback. And honestly? That’s exactly what makes it great. In a world full of overproduced garbage trying to appeal to everyone, Rifle Diet reminds us why music should sometimes feel dangerous. So crank this sucker loud, break stuff if you gotta, and thank me later. Oh, and one last thought—next time someone says rock is dead, slap them upside the head and shove this album in their hands. Trust me, they’ll shut up real quick.

Interesting fact about Album

Here’s a cool fact: The album *No Solace* by Rifle Diet is a raw explosion of Crust Punk energy, recorded, mixed, and mastered entirely by Adam Tucker. It’s like he left his fingerprint on every gritty second of it. With tracks like "Hung Between" and "Evil Men's Deeds," the band delivers a punchy mix of chaos and rebellion. And get this—Rifle Diet pulled it off with just four core members handling vocals, bass, drums, and guitar. Not bad for a 2015 release that still feels intense today!

This is dope but it should be remastered. I really hate to criticize something that was written so well. But yeah I can barely hear the vocals on my speakers. Which is to say whoever did the mastering probably didn't listen to it on 10+ different speakers like you're supposed to. Send me the files I'll do it for free. Not even kidding.
