Album Review: That’s Paris by Tony Osborne – A Sonic Postcard from the City of Lights Let’s cut to the chase. Tony Osborne’s That’s Paris is one of those albums that feels like flipping through an old photo album filled with sepia-toned memories you didn’t even know you had. Released under labels like His Master’s Voice and Roulette, this record straddles genres—Jazz, Stage & Screen, Folk, World, and Country—with ease, as if it were sipping espresso at a café on Rue de Rivoli. And let’s not forget Leonard Slonevsky’s artwork, which perfectly sets the mood before you drop the needle. Now, I’m no jazz snob, but this album hits different. It’s got tracks like “Under The Bridges Of Paris” and “Autumn Leaves,” both of which stick in your head for reasons you can’t quite explain. Take “Under The Bridges Of Paris,” for example. It starts off all mellow, almost shy, like someone tiptoeing across cobblestones late at night. Then, halfway through, the horns kick in, and suddenly you’re standing there looking up at the Eiffel Tower lit up against the sky. You don’t just hear this track—you feel it. Like, who needs Instagram when music paints pictures better than any filter? Then there’s “Autumn Leaves.” Oh man, where do I start? This song has been covered more times than I’ve lost my house keys, but Osborne makes it his own. The way he blends melancholy with hope is kinda genius. Every time I listen to it, I get flashbacks of walking aimlessly around Montmartre, pretending I’m Hemingway or something (spoiler alert: I’m not). There’s something about how the melody lingers—it’s bittersweet without being overly dramatic, like saying goodbye to summer but knowing winter will have its own charm. The rest of the album keeps the vibe going strong. Tracks like “Midnight in Montmartre” and “Le Lido” are pure escapism, while “The Last Time I Saw Paris” tugs at heartstrings you didn’t realize existed. Even lesser-known tunes like “Mam’ Selle” bring a quirky little twist to the mix, reminding us that Paris isn’t just romance—it’s also full of grit and groove. What strikes me most about That’s Paris is how effortlessly it transports you. One minute you’re stuck in traffic somewhere in the UK or US, and the next, you’re strolling along the Seine, scarf flapping dramatically behind you. Sure, some might call it cheesy, but hey, sometimes cheese is exactly what you need. Here’s the kicker, though: listening to this album made me wonder why we don’t make cities into soundtracks more often. Imagine having a playlist for every place you visit—or wish you could. Maybe then we’d stop doomscrolling and start dreamscrolling instead. So yeah, give That’s Paris a spin. It’s not perfect, but honestly, neither is Paris—and that’s kinda the point.

Hello, do you have the theme of San Paolo?
Pity the hole is not in the middle and recorded via a microphone in stead of direct.
