  • About Me: I am a second-year student at Leeds Beckett University (LBU) studying Public Relations. As a PR student, the last 2 years I was the class Course Representative, and this year I am also a PR Ambassador for the University Open Days, as my Course Leader recommended me for this position. I went to Lyceum Apostles Peter and Paul in Limassol, Cyprus and my area of study were Business Studies like Accounting and Finance, Maths, Business Administration and some more. Since I am from Cyprus my native language is Greek, and I started learning English at the age of 8. In addition, I have several certificates of piano, the theory of music, theatre, ECDL modules, accounting and finance, mathematics and cooking. As a teenager, I spent my school breaks at the school's orchestra and choir where I was the main pianist and member o the choir team. In addition, I was a member of the traditional and the contemporary dance team of my school. I am also an active member of social associations in Cyprus like the Cyprus Association of Cancer patients. As a kid, I used to travel a lot and get to know new places and create new adventures with my family. As an adult now, I started travelling alone with my friends and creating new memories. My first job was as a Waitress at a restaurant in Limassol called Le Frenchie Bistro were my responsibilities were to welcome the guests, taking orders, serve, get paid and clean up later. I learnt how to use the card machine and also how to interact with foreigners and local customers. Later on, I got a job in Leeds as a waitress too at a Greek Restaurant called Souvlaki Greek And Cypriot Restaurant, and I had the chance to practice more my skills on customer service and my English with native speakers. In addition, as part of my PR Skills module I had to find 3 weeks placement on my future company in order to create my portfolio and I got a job as a Hostess in Atlantica Bay Hotel in Limassol, Cyprus. My duties were to give a table to the customers and make them feel welcome. Moreover, I was helping my manager to create the timetable and organise some of the events that were happening at the Hotel. Now, I am currently working as a Course Ambassador, providing useful information to potential students of my University on Open Days, and Applicant Days. I give information about my course and more specifically of my modules and how to use University's facilities. I studied 12 different modules during my time at the University but I still can not decide which one is my favourite. This course gave me the opportunity to expand my knowledge in different areas like politics, law, economics, sociocultural, media so many other areas. Moreover, I had the chance to create a travel blog, where I am posting pictures from my trips.
