- Surname: J. Shultz
- About Me: Philip J. Shultz, a former Garde Manger and Line Cook at Baltimore's Pazo, brings to his positions a diverse academic and professional background in food service. With experience working at a variety of eateries in Maryland, Shultz also undertook formal studies at the Culinary Institute of America, widely regarded as one of the best cooking schools in the world. Philip J. Shultz's responsibilities at Pazo, part of the Foreman Wolf Restaurant Group, included overseeing the preparation of salads and other initial offerings, as well as desserts. He has worked at the fine dining establishment since 2010.
Before joining the team at Pazo, Philip J. Shultz developed his skills at several other facilities. In addition to working at a steakhouse, he acted as a Line Cook for both Charleston and Cinghiale, two other eateries in the Foreman Wolf Restaurant Group. He also fulfilled the same role for Windows on the Bay, a restaurant situated in a marina in Pasadena, Maryland. He got his start in food service by accepting counter positions with Einstein Bagelry and Dunkin Donuts/Baskin Robbins; at the latter, where he served from 2006 to 2007, he impressed his superiors and began training new workers.
When not working, Philip J. Shultz enjoys giving back to his community by helping his local church with dinner preparation and fundraising efforts. Annually, he assists Our Shepherd Lutheran Church with its "Jamaican Me Crazy" celebration, which features island-themed music, dancing, and cuisine. The party raises funds for youth group members to build Habitat for Humanity homes around the world, and several years ago Shultz traveled with his peers to Bermuda to do just that. Besides cooking and engaging in philanthropy, his interests include playing bass guitar, tasting wines, and sailing.
