I will graduate with my Doctor of Pharmacy degree (PharmD) in May 2018 with a concentration of Pharmacotherapy. I am originally from Los Angeles, California where I received my bachelor’s degree in Biopsychology from the University of California, Santa Barbara. My focus is to raise awareness about women’s health issues and mental health illnesses especially in underserved communities. My dream is to move back to my homeland, Armenia, and start a free women’s health clinic in order to provide birth control options, sexual education, and emotional support to the underserved and oppressed women of Armenia. I have had many years of pharmacy experience in both community and hospital settings. I started off my journey as a Certified Pharmacy Technician at Vons Pharmacy in Santa Barbara, California where I worked for four years. After graduating from undergrad, I moved to Los Angeles for a year where I continued to work for Von’s Pharmacy for another year. After my acceptance to Belmont University, I moved to Nashville where I started off my graduate career. I held a one- year pharmacy intern position at Vanderbilt Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy where I specialized in anticoagulation therapy for discharged patients. I am currently certified in Basic Life Support and Immunization certified. I have currently held introductory pharmacy practice experience at Harris Teeter, St. Thomas West Hospital, and Walgreens where I have learned many strategies to excel at customer service operations.
