  • About Me: I love the fact that I'm an Editor in the era when social media is beginning to hit its stride. Social media allows writers, journalists, editors to incorporate so much more depth and richness into our work - really give the reader what he or she wants before the questions are formed. Today, a typical 750-word feature article is dull and lifeless without a YouTube sidebar and two infographics. I love the challenge of finding those pieces that fit together to form the perfect multi-media piece. I'm also passionate about community building in the B2B space. Social media is uniquely equipped to help organizations get back in touch with their customers - in a very real way. But many companies are using social media as the Web 2.0 digital answering machine. Stop it! Customers want and deserve more. I've built case studies to show that social media is a great way to show your B2B customers that you are committed to a great product and great customer relationships. A new project at SAS that I’m especially proud to be a part of is the SAS initiative called “Digitize the Business.” SAS DtB brings together innovative thinkers who are on the front lines in areas such as social media, content marketing, SEO, lead generation, and customer loyalty and retention. Our focus is ensuring that SAS is always breaking new ground ahead of market competitors. As Editor of the SAS Risk Management Knowledge Exchange, the first of three independent blog-like sites comprising the Knowledge Exchange, my mission is to assemble risk thought leaders and risk content while building a dynamic social media environment for discussing the issues of risk. This challenge included establishing processes for gathering content, leading global content teams, approving editorial calendars, and finding and nurturing thought leaders. I stay relevant because I'm addicted to challenge and new ideas.
