AusRotten - The Rotten Agenda

The Rotten Agenda by AusRotten: A Punk Riot You Can’t Ignore Alright, buckle up, because The Rotten Agenda by AusRotten is not your grandma’s rock album—unless your grandma moonlights as an anarchist with a penchant for shouting about systemic oppression over power chords. Released in 2001 across the US and Germany via Rotten Propaganda Records and Skuld Releases, this punk/new wave juggernaut delivers exactly what its title promises: a big ol’ middle finger to authority, wrapped in raw energy and DIY grit. Let’s get one thing straight—this isn’t background music for sipping lattes at some bougie café. This is music that grabs you by the collar, shakes you awake, and screams, “Hey, pal, are you paying attention?” Tracks like Media Blackout and Modern Day Witch Hunt stick out like sore thumbs (in a good way). Take Media Blackout, for instance—it’s got Eric on vocals sounding like he just chugged three espressos and then realized his rent was overdue. The lyrics hit hard, calling out propaganda machines while the guitars churn away like they’re trying to start a mosh pit in your brain. It’s catchy, pissed-off perfection. And then there’s Modern Day Witch Hunt. Man, if paranoia had a soundtrack, this would be it. Between Corey’s basslines bouncing around like caffeinated squirrels and Matt’s drumming pounding like a heartbeat under pressure, the track feels urgent. Eric’s raspy delivery makes it feel personal, like he’s leaning into your ear saying, “Yeah, YOU’RE complicit.” Oof. Heavy stuff, but damn if it doesn’t make you want to throw something—or maybe organize a protest. What really seals the deal here is how tight the production is. Kudos to Dave Bjornson and Jason “Mr. Chambe” Thompson for recording and mixing this chaos without losing its edge. And let’s give Rashad Becker a shoutout too—he mastered and cut the lacquer like a pro, ensuring every snarl and riff hits where it counts. Shoutout also goes to Jen Urich and Kleister for making sure the artwork matches the vibe: gritty, unpolished, and straight from the gutters of rebellion. Now, I gotta say, listening to this album feels like being punched repeatedly—but in a good way? Like, yeah, it hurts, but you kinda needed that wake-up call. From bangers like Right Wing Warfare to slower burners like Isolation Or Solution, AusRotten keeps their boots firmly planted in the muddy trenches of dissent. Each song hammers home themes of inequality, corruption, and resistance, leaving zero room for apathy. So, who should check out The Rotten Agenda? If you’re into bands like Crass or Dead Kennedys, this’ll be right up your alley. Hell, even if you’re just dipping your toes into anarchist punk, this is a solid entry point. Just don’t expect anything polished or radio-friendly; this is pure, unfiltered rage bottled up in 45 minutes of sonic fury. Final thought: Listening to this record made me realize two things. One, our world hasn’t changed much since 2001 when it comes to greed and exploitation. Two, I now have an uncontrollable urge to learn how to play bass so I can annoy my neighbors. Thanks, AusRotten—you’ve ruined me in the best possible way. Rating: 8/10 Because sometimes you need a little chaos to remind yourself you’re alive.

Interesting fact about Album

Here’s something cool: The album *The Rotten Agenda* by AusRotten isn’t just a punk rock record—it’s a raw, unfiltered punch to the system. Released in 2001, it was recorded and mixed by Dave Bjornson and Jason "Mr. Chambe" Thompson, two names you might not recognize but whose work gave the album its gritty edge. And get this—Rashad Becker, who mastered and cut the lacquer for vinyl, is a legendary figure in the underground music scene. So, while the band screamed about anarchist ideals and societal flaws over 13 tracks, the sound engineering made sure their message hit hard. It’s like rebellion captured on tape.

The band's 2001 album, The Rotten Agenda, is a rehash of their previous two.

Crust from the good ole state of PA. Hope the singer is doing well. Haven’t heard anything about him in a while, but I know he’s got some health shit goin on. It’d be cool to see them reunite someday.

Peak Aus Rotten. I loved all their previous albums, but this one blew me away when it was released. Hell, I still get pumped up when that intro to Modern Day Witchhunt begins! Cheers Brain!! I tell all my friends to check your channel and subscribe.

I can’t fully tell by the lyrics but are thy nazis? I’m German and “ausrotten” kinda sounds… like a weird name.
