Album Review: Strong Enough Dreaming by Cher M People Alright, let’s talk about Strong Enough Dreaming. This little gem from the UK hits hard where it counts—right in that sweet spot between House and Euro House vibes. It’s not trying to be something it’s not; instead, it feels raw, like someone just let loose on the decks and said, "Yeah, this is us." The album comes out of Not On Label (Cher) and Not On Label (M People), which already gives off those underdog DIY feels. And honestly? That works. The two tracks here—Strong Enough (Marc Andrews Remix Edit) and Dreaming (Jimmy Gomez Vocal Remix)—are more than enough to make an impression. Let me break it down for you. First up, Strong Enough (Marc Andrews Remix Edit). Oh man, this one grabs you by the soul without even asking permission. Marc Andrews takes what was probably already a solid track and flips it into something electric. There’s this pulsing beat that sneaks up on you, kinda like when you’re walking home late at night and suddenly realize your heart’s racing because the music pumping through your headphones has taken over your whole body. You don’t notice it happening until you’re fully immersed. The bassline? Insanely smooth, almost hypnotic. I found myself zoning out while listening, picturing neon lights reflecting off wet pavement. It’s got that classic house groove but with a twist, making it feel both nostalgic and fresh. Like, how do they pull that off? Then there’s Dreaming (Jimmy Gomez Vocal Remix). If Strong Enough is all about grabbing hold of you, Dreaming is more like wrapping itself around you. Jimmy Gomez knows exactly how to layer vocals so they float above the instrumentation without ever feeling forced. The melody builds slowly, teasing you, then BOOM—it drops, and suddenly you’re floating too. This remix has this dreamy, ethereal vibe (yeah, no surprises there given the title). But what sticks with me most is how personal it feels. It’s like the song gets inside your head and starts playing with your emotions. One moment you’re vibing, the next you’re hit with this wave of longing or hope—or maybe both? Hard to explain, but trust me, it lingers. What makes these tracks stand out isn’t just their production quality—it’s how they connect. They remind me of those nights when everything else fades away except the music and the way it makes you feel alive. Like, who needs words when beats can say so much? Reflecting on Strong Enough Dreaming, I gotta admit—it left me thinking about how some things are stronger when they’re simple. Two tracks, no frills, just pure energy and emotion. And honestly? Sometimes that’s all you need. In a world full of overproduced albums with 20+ songs that blend together, this one cuts through the noise. Oh, and here’s the unexpected part: after listening to this album, I started wondering if Cher M People actually planned it as a statement against excess. Or maybe they were just having fun messing around in the studio. Either way, hats off to them. Now excuse me while I press replay… again.
