Album Review: "Here We Go Again" by DJ Roxx Alright, let’s dive into this beast of an album. Here We Go Again by DJ Roxx dropped back in 2011 under the Mental Madness label, and it's a wild ride through Trance and Hard Trance vibes. You know how some albums feel like they were made with love but also a bit of that chaotic energy? This is one of those. First off, kudos to Radoslaw Rozbicki for both writing and penning the lyrics – dude clearly had a vision. The whole thing screams Germany, in the best way possible. Like, you can almost picture neon lights flashing over a packed club somewhere in Berlin while these tracks blast through massive speakers. Now, I gotta shout out two remixes that stuck with me because, honestly, there are so many versions of the title track here it’s kinda overwhelming (but hey, variety is good, right?). The Bootleggerz Remix Edit hits hard from the get-go. It’s got this driving beat that just grabs you by the shoulders and shakes you awake. If you’re not moving within the first 30 seconds, check your pulse – something might be wrong. There’s something about the way the synths build up; it feels like climbing a rollercoaster hill, except instead of dread, you’re stoked AF for what comes next. When the drop hits, oh man, it’s pure euphoria. Feels like someone bottled up all the adrenaline from a night out and poured it straight into your ears. Then there’s the Top Secret Project Hands Up Remix. This one’s sneakier, starting off chill before BAM – it slaps you with this hands-in-the-air vibe. It’s got this old-school ravey feel, like the kind of track that makes people lose their minds at festivals. What I dig most is how unapologetically fun it is. No pretentiousness, no overthinking – just pure, fist-pumping joy. Plus, the little tweaks they throw in halfway through keep things fresh. It’s the type of remix you’d beg a DJ to play again as soon as it ends. Honestly, though, flipping through all these mixes feels like being handed a bag of candy where every piece tastes slightly different. Some are sweeter, some pack more punch, but they all come from the same sugary goodness. And yeah, maybe having 14 versions of “Here We Go Again” is excessive, but isn’t excess kinda the point of electronic music sometimes? Anyway, wrapping this up… Listening to this album felt like stepping into a time machine set to 2011. Not gonna lie, part of me wishes I could go back to those days when life seemed simpler, even if my phone barely had any storage space. But hey, at least we’ll always have tunes like these to remind us of better times. Or worse times. Either way, they make ya feel something, and that’s what counts. Oh, random thought: whoever decided to name themselves “MaLu Project” deserves a medal for creativity. Or therapy. Still undecided on that one.
