Album Review: Easyworld’s 2nd Amendment Alright, let’s talk about 2nd Amendment by Easyworld. Released back in 2003, this UK gem blends bluesy vibes with raw rock energy and throws in a dash of indie charm for good measure. It’s not perfect, but it’s got personality—like that quirky friend who always has something interesting to say. The album hops between styles like acoustic strumming, alternative rock grit, and even some indie-rock experimentation. And while the whole thing feels cohesive, there are a couple tracks that really stick out. Take “Where Happy Is,” for example. This one hits different. The melody is simple yet haunting, and Dav Ford’s lyrics feel like they’re straight from a late-night heart-to-heart. You know those songs that kinda sneak up on you? This is one of them. By the second listen, I was humming it under my breath without even realizing it. Then there’s the title track, “2nd Amendment.” With its punchy rhythm and sharp guitar riffs, it’s impossible to ignore. There’s also a cheeky “Fuck Version” included (because why not?), which adds an edgy twist to the mix. Honestly, it’s one of those songs that makes you wanna crank up the volume and just go wild. Not sure what the deeper meaning behind it is, but sometimes music doesn’t need to be overthought—it just works. Other standouts include “Young In Love,” which feels nostalgic in all the right ways, and “Dave,” which sounds like a quirky ode to someone we’ll never fully understand. Oh, and how could I forget “Where Have You Gone?”—a track that wraps things up with a reflective tone, leaving you thinking long after the last note fades. Easyworld might not have been a household name outside the UK, but 2nd Amendment proves they had serious talent. Sure, it’s rough around the edges at times, but maybe that’s part of its charm. Listening to this record feels like flipping through an old photo album—you find moments that make you smile, others that make you think, and some that just leave you scratching your head. Final thought? If you’re into indie rock with a side of attitude, give this one a spin. Just don’t ask me why they made so many versions of the same song—I’m still trying to figure that out myself.
