The Four Seasons, The London Symphony Orchestra - We Can Work It Out

We Can Work It Out: A Symphony of Harmony and Heart Let me tell you something about this wild little gem from 1977. We Can Work It Out by The Four Seasons, with some serious help from The London Symphony Orchestra, isn’t your run-of-the-mill rock album—it’s like someone threw a Beatles classic into a blender with symphonic strings and let Bob Gaudio hit the “go” button. Released in Spain on Hispavox, it's got that mix of pop rock energy and lush orchestration that makes you sit up straight but also kinda wanna cry. I’ll be honest—when I first heard this record, I wasn’t sure what to expect. But man, did it grab me by the feels. The title track, “We Can Work It Out,” is where things really shine. Written by Lennon-McCartney (yeah, THOSE guys), it’s not just another cover; it’s an explosion of emotion. With Harry Rabinowitz conducting the orchestra on side A, those swelling strings feel like they’re lifting you off the ground. And Frankie Valli? Dude still had pipes for days back then. It’s hopeful, raw, and polished all at once—a reminder that sometimes music can say what words alone can’t. Then there’s “Perfect Harmony.” Oh man, this one hits different. Mil Ralone’s arrangement wraps around you like a warm hug after a bad day. There’s something so pure about how The Four Seasons blend their signature vocal harmonies with the grandeur of the orchestra. Like, who even thinks to put these two worlds together? Yet here we are, listening to something that sounds both timeless and totally out of its mind. You know when a song ends and you just sit there staring into space for a second? Yeah, that happened. What gets me most is how unexpected this whole project feels. Here you’ve got a Spanish label putting out a collaboration between Jersey boys and British legends, backed by one of the world’s best orchestras. It shouldn’t work—but it does. Maybe too well. By the time you get through “Harmony,” you start wondering if anyone involved realized how much heart they were pouring into this thing. So yeah, this album might not have set the charts on fire back in ‘77, but damn if it doesn’t leave a mark. Honestly, it feels like finding a dusty old postcard in an attic—something forgotten but full of life once you give it a second glance. Makes me wonder…how many other weird, beautiful records are out there waiting to surprise us?

Interesting fact about Album

Did you know? In 1977, The Four Seasons teamed up with The London Symphony Orchestra to release a unique album called *We Can Work It Out*. It’s not your typical rock record. This one blends Pop Rock and Symphonic Rock, thanks to arrangements by Mil Ralone and orchestral direction by Harry Rabinowitz. What makes it even cooler? The title track was written by Lennon-McCartney, but this version adds a lush, symphonic twist. Released in Spain on the Hispavox label, it’s an unexpected gem for fans of both classic rock and orchestral music.

Every version of We Can Work it Out is great including Valli and the Seasons cover, that and the Beatles version are the best. Too bad we don't hear Valli and the Seasons version of this often, all we hear is the same ol crap: Lady Gaga, Katy Perry, Ke$ha, Eminem, Justin Bieber, LMFAO, Lil Wayne, Nicki Minaj, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, Kid Cudi, Adele, and Maroon 5. Play this awesome cover more than that crap.
