Hellkrusher - Doomsday Hour

Review by Gladys Lissie

Doomsday Hour by Hellkrusher: A Punk Hardcore Riot That Won’t Let You Breathe Alright, buckle up. Doomsday Hour by Hellkrusher is one of those albums that punches you in the face and doesn’t apologize for it. Released back in 2014, this Polish-UK-Europe-US-Germany mashup of punk fury and hardcore grit hits hard, fast, and without mercy. If you’re looking for something polished or radio-friendly, go somewhere else. This ain’t it. It’s raw, pissed-off, and unapologetically real. Let’s break it down. The album comes courtesy of labels like Sub Culture Distro & Tapes, Skuld Releases, Profane Existence, and Rescued From Life Records—names that scream underground authenticity. And yeah, Carl Stipetic on engineering duties keeps things tight but still lets the chaos breathe (props to him for throwing down some keyboard action on track B9 too). Now, onto the tracks. There are bangers all over this thing, but two stood out so hard they’re practically tattooed on my brain: "Ethnic Cleansing" and "I Don't Wanna Die." “Ethnic Cleansing” slams into your skull with riffs so sharp they could cut glass. The vocals? Pure venom. It’s a no-holds-barred assault on hypocrisy and systemic bullshit, delivered with enough intensity to make your ears bleed. Every second feels like a call to arms—or maybe just an excuse to smash something. By the time the breakdown kicks in, you’ll be screaming along even if you don’t know the words. Then there’s “I Don’t Wanna Die,” which flips the script slightly. Sure, it’s still aggressive as hell, but there’s this weird undercurrent of desperation that makes it stick. The lyrics hit different when you realize we’re all kinda living on borrowed time anyway. When the chorus explodes, it’s less about rebellion and more about survival—a primal scream against inevitability. It’s haunting as fuck. Other standouts? Tracks like “War Machine,” “Hell God,” and “Fuck You Pal” keep the energy cranked to eleven, while deeper cuts like “Lust For Power” and “What Peace” dig into themes of corruption and disillusionment. Even the intro sets the tone perfectly—a short burst of noise that says, "Hey, strap in, shit’s about to get wild." But here’s the kicker: despite being nearly a decade old, Doomsday Hour still feels urgent today. Maybe because the world hasn’t gotten any better since 2014. Or maybe because Hellkrusher nailed the formula of rage + melody = timeless chaos. Either way, this record refuses to fade away. So what’s the takeaway? Honestly, I’m not sure. Maybe it’s that life sucks, authority can eat shit, and music like this reminds us we’re not alone in feeling angry. Or maybe it’s just that sometimes you need an album that sounds like a punch to the gut. Whatever it is, crank this up loud, let the distortion drown out your problems, and remember—you’re not dying alone. Fucked-up world or not, Hellkrusher has got your back.

Interesting fact about Album

Here's an interesting fact about *Doomsday Hour* by Hellkrusher: The album was a global DIY effort, with releases spanning Poland, the UK, Germany, and the US. It even featured Carl Stipetic pulling double duty as both the engineer and keyboardist for one track ("B9"). Not bad for a raw punk and hardcore record that screams anti-establishment vibes while being distributed by multiple indie labels like Profane Existence and Rescued From Life Records. Shows you how underground music can still bring people together across continents.

I have been lucky enough to have been a roadie for the fiend and I know hellbastard scruff, and I know energetic krusher but they were in different bands. Conflict, discharge i have been lucky to be around these people, all I did was carry amps and through the idiots out. They were the days.
