Album Review: Clothes Wear Me by Mica Levi ft. KEVIN Alright, so here’s the deal—Clothes Wear Me is one of those albums that sneaks up on you. Released in 2016 under [adult swim], this experimental electronic gem doesn’t try to fit into any box, and honestly? That’s what makes it stick. Mica Levi (yeah, the same genius behind Under the Skin) teamed up with KEVIN to create something that feels like a sonic playground for your brain. It’s weird, raw, and kinda messy—but in the best way possible. Let’s talk tracks, shall we? The title track, “Clothes Wear Me,” hits you right off the bat. It’s got this jittery, glitchy vibe that feels like your headphones are malfunctioning—but then you realize, nope, that’s just how they wanted it to sound. There’s this moment where the beat drops out completely, leaving only these haunting vocal snippets floating around. Feels like walking through an empty mall at 3 AM. You don’t know why you’re there, but you can’t leave either. I remember it because it’s unsettling yet oddly comforting, like when you find cash in an old jacket pocket. Then there’s another standout—though truthfully, the whole thing flows together like one big experiment. Let’s say Track X (I won’t spoil all the fun) has this warped synth line that sounds like someone melted a Casio keyboard and turned it into art. It’s playful but also kinda dark, like watching cartoons late at night when everyone else is asleep. It reminds me of being a kid and trying to make sense of grown-up stuff—you’re not sure if you get it, but you’re hooked anyway. What sticks with me about Clothes Wear Me isn’t just the music itself; it’s how unapologetically itself it is. This album doesn’t care if you “get” it or not, and honestly, that’s refreshing as hell. Listening to it feels like peeking behind a curtain into Mica Levi’s brain—a chaotic, beautiful mess of ideas bouncing off each other. Oh, and here’s the kicker: after listening to this album, I started wondering if my clothes really do wear me sometimes. Like, who’s controlling who, y’know? Maybe that’s the point. Or maybe I’m overthinking it. Either way, Clothes Wear Me will leave you questioning more than just your wardrobe choices.

I don't understand why so many people are hating because from my own understanding I'm thinking adult swim wanna throw out as much musical content, from all varieties as to hit each and every possible preference, you know? For example I don't personally dig this but I'm sure there's a bunch of people who do and that's cool, likewise they might not dig the stuff I like but I do and that's cool too

I saw this advertised on Adult Swim and I had to hear more of the song before passing judgement. Yep! It sounds like something I would listen to right before I slit my wrists. Good God who listens to this crap?
