Review by Eki Oktavia Handayani

Dancin’ Electric One More Thing by Nish – A High-Voltage Blast from 2004 Alright, buckle up, because this one’s a wild ride. Nish’s Dancin’ Electric One More Thing isn’t just an album; it’s a full-on assault to your eardrums in the best way possible. Released back in 2004 under Harderground Recordings (shoutout to Japan for keepin’ it real), this sucker slaps harder than most electronic albums you’ll stumble across today. Genre? Electro and Hard Trance. Style? Pure chaos with a side of adrenaline. Let’s dive into why this thing sticks in my brain like gum on a hot sidewalk. First off, “Dancin’ Electric.” Holy crap, this track is like getting hit by lightning while chugging an energy drink. The beat punches you right in the chest, and those synths? They’re not just layered—they’re piled on top of each other like they’re daring you to keep up. It’s relentless, man. You don’t dance to this track; it forces you to move. Like, I remember hearing this at some underground club years ago, and suddenly everyone was losing their minds. People were jumping around like they’d been tasered. That moment stuck with me because that’s what great music does—it grabs hold and doesn’t let go. Then there’s “One More Thing,” which feels like the evil twin of the first track. If “Dancin’ Electric” is all about raw power, this one sneaks up on you with its groove. It starts off cool, almost teasing you, but then BAM—those hard trance kicks kick in, and it’s game over. There’s something about the way Nish builds tension here. By the time the drop hits, you’re ready to smash stuff. Not gonna lie, I’ve probably listened to this track 50 times in a row before. Obsessive? Maybe. Worth it? Absolutely. Props to Simon for the lacquer cut too—he didn’t mess around. The sound quality pops so hard, it’s like these tracks were made yesterday instead of nearly two decades ago. And can we talk about how short the album is? Two tracks. That’s it. But honestly, who needs more when both songs hit as hard as these do? Sometimes less really is more. Here’s the kicker though—listening to this album now feels kinda surreal. In a world where EDM has turned into festival anthems and TikTok-friendly drops, Dancin’ Electric One More Thing reminds us what electro and hard trance used to be: dangerous, unpredictable, and straight-up electrifying. It’s like finding an old mixtape in your car and realizing it still bangs harder than anything new. So yeah, if you haven’t heard this yet, fix that immediately. Just don’t blame me when you find yourself thrashing around your living room like a lunatic. Oh, and fun fact—I once spilled coffee on my laptop while listening to this. Coincidence? Probably not.
