Radiohead - Amnesiac 7 Bonus

Radiohead’s Amnesiac 7 Bonus: A Sonic Puzzle That Keeps You Guessing Alright, let’s talk about Radiohead’s Amnesiac 7 Bonus. Released in 2001 under EMI Electrola and Flower Records (yep, Ukraine got this gem too), it’s not just an album—it’s like wandering into a maze where every corner has something weirdly beautiful waiting for you. With its mix of rock, electronic vibes, experimental chaos, and alternative rock swagger, this thing feels less like music and more like a late-night conversation with someone who’s smarter than you but still kinda fun to hang out with. Now, before we dive in, here’s the tracklist because holy cow, there are some bangers: “I Might Be Wrong,” “Dollars And Cents,” “You And Whose Army?”—you know, all those cryptic titles that make you feel smart when you pronounce them correctly. But I’m gonna zoom in on two tracks that really stuck with me: “Pyramid Song” and “Life In A Glasshouse.” First up, “Pyramid Song.” Man, if this song doesn’t haunt your dreams, are you even alive? It starts off slow, almost lazy, but then BAM—it hits you with these piano chords that sound like they’re dripping straight out of a dream. Thom Yorke’s voice is so smooth it could butter toast, but don’t get comfy; the lyrics pull you right back into their existential spiral. Like, what is time anyway? Is it linear? Circular? Or just one big cosmic joke? This track sticks with me because it’s both soothing and unsettling, which honestly sums up life pretty well. Then there’s “Life In A Glasshouse.” If “Pyramid Song” is a quiet meditation, this one’s a brass-fueled freakout. The jazzy trumpet solo slaps harder than anything else on the record, and suddenly you’re not sure whether to dance or cry. Maybe both? There’s something raw and human about how messy it feels, like they threw everything at the wall and somehow made it stick. By the end, you’re left wondering if you should applaud or call your therapist. Probably both. What makes Amnesiac 7 Bonus stand out isn’t just the music itself—it’s the way it refuses to be pinned down. One minute you’re vibing to glitchy electronica (“Idioteque”), the next you’re drowning in melancholy strings (“How to Disappear Completely,” wait nope, wrong album). Tracks like “Knives Out” and “Optimistic” show off their alt-rock roots while sneaking in enough curveballs to keep things interesting. Even deep cuts like “Hunting Bears” throw surprises your way, leaving you scratching your head but kinda loving it. In the end, this album’s like that friend who always shows up uninvited but somehow improves every party. Sure, it’s confusing as hell sometimes, but isn’t that part of the charm? Listening to Amnesiac 7 Bonus reminds me that art doesn’t have to be perfect—it just needs to be honest. And maybe, just maybe, honesty sounds like a guy singing over wonky pianos and broken beats in a room full of ghosts. Oh, and hey—if anyone asks, tell ‘em Radiohead invented jazztronica. They’ll either nod knowingly or walk away real fast. Either way, win-win.

To me it is a deeply spiritual song. It is about a person in the afterlife regretting his/her past (e. g. friendships with wrong people ("black-eyed angels"), mistakes in love life, etc.).
It looks like a message to all of us. No matter how big your personal "dark side" is, you have a chance to repent and be forgiven by God while you're still alive. If you trust your faith, then you have "nothing to fear and nothing to doubt". It is about unity of humans as well (all in a "little row boat").

Check out the song "Wash it all away" by Jesu. It's JK Broderick (I hope I'm spelling it right) from Godflesh . It's the only song that makes me cry. It will pull emotion out of you.

Me: Pulls this song up because I'm stressed, and the song just popped into my head. After watching the video I felt calmer because, especially at the beginning, the song looks and sounds exactly how my head feels right now.

Everyone in the comments: this song gives me nightmares.

Awesome ?

everything about this feels wrong. It screams of artificiality and a mourning of the loss of humanity as a consequence, or something like that. I just get a sick feeling from watching and hearing this. Whatever is trying to be communicated by the song, it's really doing a great job.
