Richard Ramirez - His

Richard Ramirez’s His: A Noise Assault That Still Stings in ‘97 Alright, let’s get one thing straight—Richard Ramirez’s His isn’t for the faint of heart. This 1997 noise-electronic gut-punch from the US, released on Castrated Tapes, doesn’t ask permission to invade your skull. It just does it. And yeah, you’ll either love it or wanna throw your headphones out the window. But honestly? That’s kinda the point. The album opens with "Untitled," and holy hell, this track is like being slapped awake by a malfunctioning robot. The soundscapes are jagged, raw, and unapologetically ugly in the best way possible. You can almost feel the static crawling under your skin. It’s not music—it’s an experience. Like someone took all the chaos of modern life, cranked it up to eleven, and shoved it down your ears. I remember this track because it doesn’t let go. Even days later, that distorted hum sticks with you, gnawing at the back of your brain like some pissed-off parasite. Then there’s another standout (though unnamed tracks make it hard to shout out specifics). One section hits so hard it feels like your speakers are about to explode—or maybe that’s just your patience snapping. There’s no melody here, no comforting rhythm. Just pure, unfiltered aggression. It’s messy as hell but intentional. Every screech, buzz, and glitch has its place in the madness. If you’re looking for something easy to digest, keep scrolling. But if you want art that fights back, this is it. What gets me about Holy crap, what did I just listen to? It’s how unrelenting it feels. Most albums give you breathing room; His grabs you by the throat and refuses to let go until the last second fades into silence. Sure, it’s abrasive. Yeah, it’s exhausting. But damn if it doesn’t leave a mark. Here’s the kicker though: after listening to this beast, I couldn’t help but laugh. Not because it’s funny—but because it’s absurd. Who makes something this confrontational and expects people to stick around? Richard Ramirez, apparently. And weirdly enough, we do.

Interesting fact about Album

Here’s a wild fact: Richard Ramirez, the infamous serial killer known as the "Night Stalker," released a noise music album in 1997 called *His*. Yeah, you read that right. The guy behind chilling crimes also dabbled in experimental electronic music. Released by Castrated Tapes, the album falls under the Noise genre and even features a track simply titled *Untitled*. It’s unsettling to think about how someone so dark could create something tied to art, even if it’s as abrasive as noise music. Definitely not your typical artist backstory.
