"Out Of The Woods Disconnect" is a moody masterpiece from the UK duo Smoke Fairies, released back in 2019 under Year Seven Records. It’s not perfect, but man, does it have soul. The genres here are all over the place—pop, folk, world, country, rock—but somehow they pull it off without sounding like a chaotic mess. Their style leans heavily into alternative rock, with haunting harmonies and raw instrumentation that feel like wandering through an overgrown forest at twilight. SF stick to their own original style, great songwriting, no bandwagon jumping, a string of albums full of great songs, far more substance than many of their contemporaries, they really deserve far more attention. DBTWH is another album full of well written material and I reserve a special place for Left To Roll.

Wow, it's so nice to see that Smoke Fairies are still making great music. I feel lucky to have been able to see them perform in coffee shops during my college days in New Orleans. They were super sweet and very talented.
