Alright, buckle up. This ain’t your grandma’s Diana Ross tribute album—this is Million Copy Hit Songs Made Famous By Diana Ross Sung By Suzy Miller. Yeah, the title’s a mouthful, but don’t let that scare you off. Released in 1973 under Boulevard Records in the UK, this record dives headfirst into soul with just enough funk to keep things spicy. And yeah, it’s got its flaws, but damn if it doesn’t have heart. Let’s cut to the chase: Suzy Miller doesn’t try to outshine Diana Ross here; she steps into those massive shoes like she owns ‘em. The tracklist? Pure nostalgia fuel. You’ve got “Stop! In The Name Of Love,” “You Can’t Hurry Love,” and all the other Motown bangers you didn’t know you needed reimagined by someone else. But two tracks hit harder than the rest: “I’m Still Waiting” and “Reach Out And Touch (Somebody’s Hand).” “I’m Still Waiting” grabs you by the collar from the first note. Suzy lays it down smooth, almost like she’s whispering secrets straight into your ear. It’s not flashy or overproduced—it’s raw, real, and dripping with emotion. When she belts out that chorus, you feel it. Like, deep-in-your-gut feel it. She doesn’t need fireworks to make this one explode. It sticks because it’s honest. No frills, no gimmicks. Just pure soul. Then there’s “Reach Out And Touch.” Oh man, this one punches you right in the feels. Suzy takes what could’ve been a cheesy cover and turns it into something electric. Her voice cracks just enough to remind you she’s human, not some studio-perfect robot. There’s grit here, passion that makes you wanna grab somebody’s hand yourself—or maybe punch them in the face if they’re being an idiot. Either way, it works. Look, this album ain’t perfect. Some tracks drag a little, and sure, comparing Suzy to Diana feels unfair at times. But screw perfection. What matters is how these songs make you move, think, and feel. This isn’t about reinventing the wheel—it’s about keeping the spirit alive. And Suzy does exactly that. Here’s the kicker: listening to this album feels like finding an old photograph tucked inside a book. It’s familiar yet strange, comforting yet jarring. At one point, I caught myself wondering why more people don’t talk about Suzy Miller. Then again, maybe that’s part of its charm. Sometimes, greatness flies under the radar—and when you stumble across it, it hits different. So go ahead, crank this sucker up. Let Suzy take you back to ‘73. Just don’t blame me if you start crying during “I’m Still Waiting.”

I suppose it paid the bills...assuming any/many copies were actually sold.
But surely anything original Motown would never be bettered, best left alone.

Polly sounds good, bu the production of this album is lackluster at best

I suppose this budget LP paid Suzi's household bills but really this stuff belongs only to the Motown originals.

Marvellous, what a great version by a fabulous singer! Never knew this existed - now I've got to find and hear the rest of this album. What this does show is what a good song this is; although Polly/Suzy does sound quite like Diana on this version, a great song is a great song, no matter (almost) who performs it, and the same has to be said for all the other songs on this album.
