Album Review: Otra Vez Frijoles by Vantroi – A Punk Rock Fiesta with a Mexican Twist Released in 2015 under the independent label Pepedote Records, Otra Vez Frijoles is a raw and unapologetic punk rock album that captures the rebellious spirit of Mexico’s underground music scene. With its eclectic mix of gritty guitar riffs, punchy percussion, and lyrics that oscillate between introspective musings and biting social commentary, this record is both chaotic and deeply human. Produced by Javier Abreu and brought to life by an ensemble cast of talented musicians—including bassist Rafael Herrera, keyboard wizard Kiyoshi Nakamura, and vocalist Carlos Valerio—this album doesn’t just play; it shouts, stomps, and occasionally stumbles into brilliance.
