Review by Tyler Francke

Fais Du Rock by Warrior Kids: A Raw, Unapologetic Blast of French Punk Energy If you’re into music that punches you in the gut and makes your heart race, Fais Du Rock by Warrior Kids is a wild ride worth taking. Released back in 2007, this self-released gem from France blends punk, Oi, and ska with an unfiltered energy that feels like a sweaty basement show where everyone’s screaming along. It’s raw, it’s loud, and honestly? It’s kinda perfect. Let’s talk about the lineup real quick—Marc handles both bass and vocals like he was born to do it, Seb shreds on guitar like his life depends on it, and René keeps the chaos together with relentless drumming. Together, they create this gritty, high-octane sound that just sticks to your brain. Now, I gotta single out two tracks because, man, they hit different. First up, “Fais Du Rock.” Yeah, the title track. You can tell these guys weren’t messing around when they wrote this anthem. It’s got this driving beat and shout-along lyrics that make you wanna grab someone by the shoulders and yell, “THIS IS WHAT ROCK N’ ROLL IS SUPPOSED TO FEEL LIKE!” Every time I hear it, I’m transported to some imaginary mosh pit where no one cares if they spill their beer—it’s all about the vibe. Pure adrenaline. Then there’s “Radioactivité.” This one sneaks up on you with its darker tone but still packs that punchy punk edge. The lyrics stick with you—not just because they’re catchy but because they feel urgent, almost like a warning wrapped in distortion. There’s something haunting yet empowering about how Marc delivers them. By the end of the song, you’re not sure whether to headbang or sit quietly and think about the state of the world. Maybe do both? The rest of the album doesn’t disappoint either. Tracks like “Business Et Guerre” and “Jour D’Election” tackle themes of politics and society without sounding preachy, while tunes like “Ramones Rock’N’Roll Radio” pay homage to the legends who paved the way for bands like Warrior Kids. And let’s not forget “Le Parfum Des Exclus,” which closes things out with a bittersweet mix of defiance and melancholy. These songs don’t just entertain—they linger. What really stands out about Fais Du Rock is how authentic it feels. There’s no overproduction or glossy sheen here. Instead, you get four dudes pouring their hearts into every note, riff, and lyric. Listening to it feels less like consuming music and more like being part of something—a moment frozen in time where rebellion meets melody. So yeah, maybe this record won’t change your life, but damn if it doesn’t remind you why rock music matters. In a world full of algorithms and playlists, Warrior Kids bring back the soul of DIY punk rock. And honestly? That’s rare enough to celebrate. Final thought: If you ever meet Marc, ask him how he manages to sing and play bass at the same time without losing his mind. Seriously. How does he do it?
