- About Me: Demetris' Encore Journey is Demetris' faithful walk in the later years of her life, geared with knowledge from previous life lessons; driven to "be the change she wants to see" AND to "give the gift of inspiration."
She began this journey in 2011 (48 years old) as a newly empty nester, seasoned federal employee and searching for a purposeful career. Her motivation for this blog is to become a documentary photographer; dedicated to leaving a legacy of character and insight for her GrandChildren.
She is the Founder and Executive Director of Through It All, Inc., which is a 501c3 non-profit organization dedicated to empowering members of families to break the universal influences of unhealthy family pathology on one generation to another. Through It All has recently launched GrandParent's Hands; a support group of GrandParents joined together to create and engage in family activities that will allow them to create healthy and memorable family legacies.
