Void My Head Is Into You by BRNS: A Post-Punk Gem That Sticks Like Glue Alright, let’s talk about Void My Head Is Into You by BRNS. This 2014 release from France is one of those albums that sneaks up on you when you least expect it. It’s rock with a pop twist, but don’t let the genres fool ya—it’s got this raw post-punk edge that feels like someone took The Cure and smashed ‘em together with early Interpol in a dingy Parisian basement. Label Louis Records didn’t mess around here; they gave us something gritty yet polished enough to keep your ears happy. First off, shoutout to Boris Görtz for the design because damn, it fits the vibe perfectly—dark, moody, kinda unsettling. And props to Frédéric Alstadt for mastering this beast. Every track hits hard without losing its soul, which ain’t easy to pull off. Now, onto the tracks. There are two songs I can’t stop thinking about: “My Head Is Into You” and “Void.” These aren’t just tunes—they’re experiences. Starting with “My Head Is Into You,” it’s got this hypnotic groove that grabs hold of you right away. The bassline? Pure fire. Like, if basslines could strut down a runway, this one would be wearing shades and not giving a damn what anyone thinks. The vocals have this detached coolness, almost like the singer doesn’t care if you listen or not—but trust me, you will listen. By the time the chorus kicks in, it’s impossible not to nod along. Something about how it builds keeps me coming back. Feels like falling into a dream where everything’s slightly off but still totally captivating. Then there’s “Void.” Oh man, this one hits different. It starts slow, almost hesitant, like it’s testing the waters before diving headfirst into chaos. Around halfway through, though, BAM—it explodes into this frenetic energy that makes you wanna throw stuff (in a good way). The guitar work here is wild, all jagged edges and sharp turns. Honestly, it reminds me of staring out at an endless night sky and feeling both tiny and infinite at the same time. Weird flex, but okay. What sticks with me most about this album is how unapologetically itself it is. It doesn’t try too hard to impress—it just exists, bold and brash, daring you to keep up. Listening to it feels like stepping into another world, one where rules don’t apply and emotions run high. So yeah, Void My Head Is Into You might not change your life overnight, but it’ll definitely leave a mark. Maybe it’s the kind of thing you blast while driving nowhere in particular, windows down, wind messing up your hair. Or maybe it’s the soundtrack to some late-night existential crisis. Either way, it works. And hey, fun fact: Did you know BRNS stands for “Be Right Not Sorry”? Kinda ironic considering how much this album made me sorry I hadn’t discovered them sooner.
