Death Threat - Now Here Fast

Album Review: Now Here Fast by Death Threat Alright, let’s talk about Now Here Fast by Death Threat. Released back in 2004 on Triple Crown Records, this album is like a chaotic house party where punk, hardcore, metal, and even a little pop/rock crash together with no chill pills in sight. The band pulls from a ton of styles—punk/new wave, grindcore, hardcore punk, heavy metal—you name it, they’ve got it. It’s messy but in the best way possible. The whole thing was written collaboratively by Aaron, Bill, Teo, and Wes, which makes sense because there’s just so much going on here that it feels like four dudes throwing all their ideas into a blender and hitting “puree.” And honestly? That wild mix works most of the time. Let me zoom in on two tracks that stuck with me. First up: “Hated And Proud.” This one hits hard—not just musically, but emotionally too. There’s something raw about how pissed off yet unapologetic it feels. Like, yeah, we’re hated, and guess what? We don’t care. The energy is relentless, the riffs are crunchy as hell, and the vocals sound like someone screaming into a void while punching it at the same time. You can tell this track wasn’t made for radio play—it’s meant for sweaty basements and mosh pits. I remember hearing it and thinking, “Damn, these guys aren’t holding anything back.” Then there’s “Live Fast, Die Young,” which kinda sums up the vibe of the entire album. It’s fast, loud, and over before you know it, but man does it leave an impression. The breakdowns slap, and the lyrics are simple enough to shout along to after one listen. It’s not reinventing the wheel or anything, but sometimes you don’t need innovation—you just need pure adrenaline. Every time this song comes on, I find myself air-drumming like a total dork. Other standout moments include “Poisoned Minds” and “Out Of Time,” both of which bring some serious heaviness without losing that punk edge. But if I’m being real, the album isn’t perfect. Some parts feel repetitive, and a few tracks blur together when you’re listening straight through. Still, that doesn’t stop Now Here Fast from being a solid ride overall. Here’s the thing—I didn’t expect to dig this album as much as I did. When I first hit play, I thought, “Oh great, another chaotic mess trying too hard to be edgy.” But nah, Death Threat actually pulled it off. They weren’t chasing trends; they were just making music that sounded like them. And honestly? That’s refreshing as hell. So yeah, give Now Here Fast a spin if you’re into fast-paced chaos with heart. Just don’t blame me if your neighbors start complaining. Oh, and fun fact: turns out the album title has a hidden meaning. Or maybe it doesn’t. Who knows? Punk rock keeps you guessing like that.
