Hellucifernation by Demented Are Go: A Wild Ride Through Psychobilly Chaos Alright, let’s get into this wild beast of an album—Hellucifernation by Demented Are Go. Released in 1999 on Crazy Love Records outta Germany, it’s a chaotic mashup of rock, alternative, and pop/rock with some seriously twisted vibes. Think punk revival meets psychobilly madness, all wrapped up in a sleeve that screams “I’m here to mess with your brain.” And honestly? It delivers. First off, shoutout to VINCE for the killer artwork and layout crew like Clitora Eastwood (what a name!) for making the whole thing look as unhinged as the music sounds. The band themselves are no slouches either—Spark Retard on vocals brings that raw, unhinged energy while Anton The Impaler pounds the drums like he’s trying to wake the dead. Oh, and Charlie Harper on harp? Unexpected but totally works. Now onto the tracks. There’s a lot packed in here, but two songs really stuck with me: “Stake In the Heart” and “Can’t Sleep at Night.” “Stake In the Heart” is just pure adrenaline. It kicks off with this punchy guitar riff from Stan The Man that feels like someone lit a fire under your seat. Then Spark Retard comes in screaming about love gone wrong—or maybe turning undead? Honestly, I wasn’t sure, but I didn’t care because the chorus hits so hard you’ll wanna sing along even if you don’t know the words. Plus, there’s this weirdly catchy violin solo by Simon Cohen that sneaks in halfway through—it’s like they’re daring you not to headbang. Spoiler: You will. Then there’s “Can’t Sleep at Night,” which flips the vibe entirely. This one’s slower, moodier, almost haunting. Nice Guy Eddie lays down these deep basslines that feel like shadows creeping across your room at 3 AM. The lyrics are creepy AF, talking about paranoia or maybe ghosts—I dunno, something sinister lurking in the dark. But damn, it sticks with you. Every time I hear it, I catch myself checking over my shoulder before bed. Not joking. The rest of the album keeps the chaos going strong, though some tracks blend together after a few listens. Songs like “Daddie’s Makin’ Monsters” and “Strangler In Paradise” keep things fresh with their absurd humor and relentless energy. And props to Cyril Niceone on keyboards for adding those little flourishes that make everything sound extra deranged. What makes Hellucifernation stand out isn’t just its genre-bending craziness; it’s how unapologetically weird it is. Like, who else would throw harps, violins, and psychobilly riffs into the same pot and expect it to work? Yet somehow, it does. It’s messy, loud, and occasionally confusing—but isn’t that what great rock albums are supposed to be? Final thoughts? Listening to Hellucifernation feels like stumbling into a haunted carnival where everyone’s drunk and having the time of their lives. Is it perfect? Nah. Does it need to be? Absolutely not. If anything, its flaws just add to the charm. So crank it up, embrace the chaos, and remember: don’t send me no flowers unless they’re black roses. Oh, and fun fact—the photography credits mention both J. Blomenkamp and Martin Shaw. Wonder if they fought over who got to take the spookiest pics…

Interesting fact about Album

Did you know that the album *Hellucifernation* by Demented Are Go is like a wild ride through multiple genres? Released in 1999 in Germany, it blends rock, punk revival, and psychobilly with a dash of alternative pop. The band had some killer talent behind the scenes too—like VINCE handling the artwork and Clitora Eastwood on layout. Fun fact: the track "Funnel of Love" shows up twice, but don’t let that fool you; every version feels fresh. And how cool is it that Charlie Harper added harp to this gritty mix? This album's got layers, man.
