Blackhole by Playboyz: A Jumpstyle Gem from Belgium That Still Hits Hard If you’re into electronic music with a high-energy twist, Blackhole by Playboyz is an album worth diving into. Released in 2014 under the DWX Bounce label, this Belgian project doesn’t just stick to the basics of Jumpstyle—it cranks it up and adds layers that make it memorable. The genre itself might not be everyone’s cup of tea, but for fans of hard-hitting kicks and relentless beats, this record feels like a wild ride. Let’s talk tracks. First off, “You Got My Love” grabs your attention right away with its infectious vocal hook. It’s one of those songs where you can almost picture yourself losing control on some underground dancefloor. What makes it stand out? Maybe it’s how the melody floats effortlessly over the pounding bassline without ever feeling forced. Or maybe it’s just the way it sneaks into your head and stays there for days. Either way, it’s proof that Playboyz knows how to craft something catchy yet raw—a balance many artists struggle with. Then there’s the title track, “Blackhole.” If you’re looking for intensity, this one delivers. The build-ups are sharp, the drops hit like a ton of bricks, and the whole vibe screams chaos in the best possible way. There’s no pretentiousness here—just pure, unfiltered energy designed to make you move. Tracks like this remind me why Jumpstyle was such a cult favorite back in the day; it’s chaotic fun wrapped up in tight production. Sure, the album isn’t perfect. Some transitions between tracks could feel smoother, and if you’re not already a fan of the genre, parts of it might come across as repetitive. But let’s be real—that’s kind of the point. This isn’t background music. It demands your full attention, whether you’re at a rave or blasting it through headphones late at night. What strikes me most about Blackhole is how it captures the spirit of early 2010s electronic music while still sounding fresh today. In a world obsessed with EDM drops and polished pop crossovers, Playboyz sticks to their roots and lets the music do the talking. And honestly? That’s refreshing. Final thought: Listening to this album made me realize how much I miss the unpredictability of smaller labels like DWX Bounce. They took risks, put out bold stuff, and didn’t care much about trends. You don’t see that as often anymore. So yeah, give Blackhole a spin. Just don’t blame me if you find yourself addicted to jumping around your living room like it’s 2014 all over again.

About Playboyz

It all started when John Wijdoogen (12/08/1984) and Sander Kapper (21/12/1975) met each other at a local record store. Both crazy about the harder styles they decided to combine their forces in the studio. With their first release immediately picked up by the heavy weights in the scene it all went really fast. Not many djs can say that their first gig was at the prestigious Heineken Music Hall, but they did it. Many big venues will follow in short time. Unfortunately their success had also a downside. In 2006, Sander was suffering ear damage and decided to quit with the successful act Playboyz. After that John Wijdoogen decided to go solo and keep the name Playboyz. He created his own unique sound and showed it with his fast mixing skills at parties such as, Tomorrowland, Defqon 1, Reverze, Hardbass, Sensation Black, Summerfestival, Pussylounge, Nature 1, City Parade & many more. With releases on big labels like, Zoo Records, Dirty Workz & Ghoststyle, and remixes for Coone, Mark with a K, Dr.Rude, Fenix, Q-ic, Lethal Mg & Chicago Zone he has also proven himself as a powerful producer. With his new track Dance MF already played by the big shots and several releases ready, the future looks really bright! He is back and ready to rock your world!
