Hammersmith Odeon Live Show 1986 by Run-DMC – A Raw Blast from the Past Yo, let’s talk about Hammersmith Odeon Live Show 1986 by Run-DMC. This ain’t your typical studio album; it’s a live recording that captures the energy of hip-hop in its golden era. Released in ‘86, this UK gem falls under the electro hip-hop vibe, and man, does it slap. It’s raw, unfiltered, and straight-up electric. The crowd’s hyped, the beats are thumping, and Run-DMC is out here proving why they’re legends. Now, the album only has two tracks: Part One and Part Two. Yeah, I know, not the most creative names, but don’t let that fool ya. These aren’t just songs—they’re experiences. Let me break it down for you. Part One kicks things off with that classic Run-DMC swagger. You can practically feel the bass rattling your chest, and the scratches? Chef’s kiss. What sticks with me is how smooth Darryl “DMC” McDaniels sounds on the mic. He’s got this effortless flow like he’s just chilling with you, telling stories over beats. And then there’s Jam Master Jay—bless his soul—working the turntables like it’s an extension of his body. Honestly, hearing him cut and scratch live makes me wish I could’ve been in that venue. Then we roll into Part Two, which feels like a second wind. This one’s wilder, more chaotic in the best way possible. The crowd’s screaming, and Run starts spitting bars so sharp they could cut glass. There’s something about the call-and-response moments that hit different live—it’s like you’re part of the show even if you’re just listening decades later. Plus, the funky electro groove running through it all ties everything together perfectly. Feels like a party you never wanna leave. What makes this album stick in my brain is how real it feels. No fake polish or overproduction—just three guys (RIP Jay) doing what they do best in front of a crowd that’s losing their minds. It’s messy, loud, and full of life, which is kinda beautiful when you think about it. So yeah, Hammersmith Odeon Live Show 1986 might not be everyone’s cup of tea, especially if you’re looking for radio-friendly hits. But if you wanna hear hip-hop at its realest, this one’s worth a spin. Honestly, as I was writing this, I started wondering… would Run-DMC have blown up TikTok if they dropped this today? Probably, but maybe without the leather jackets. Who knows? Anyway, crank this up if you love old-school vibes. And if you don’t? Well, maybe you need to check your pulse while you’re at it.

Daaaammmnnn...Jam-Master Jay said "Fuck Whodini, cause they went home!"! Coincidently, and unfortunately enough, both Jay and Ecstacy have since gone to the "Upper Roooom"!

I am from England and I didn't go to this leg of Run DMCs tour (and Beastie Boys and Davy DMX) but I did go to both the Manchester Academy and the Nottingham Rock City gigs, the Rock City was the best because it a real club night,it was a Sunday All Dayer that went from about 4pm to 12am.There were a roster of DJs that played R&B and Hip Hop then about 10 pm the concert started ,I saw Run DMC and Beastie Boys ,then later Mantronix,as well as (all on the same bill) Public Enemy,Eric B & L.L Cool Jay,God these were fuckin dope nights
